Strange but true...

He chalks like that because the fast twisting motion of the tip inside the cube of chalk creates enough static electricity to positively charge the tip which makes the chalk molecules cling to the tip itself. After speaking with a renowned physicist I have learned that the most effective way to chalk you cue is by placing the cube on the ground, inverting you stick, and rolling it back and forth between your hands... much like starting a campfire. You guys should give it a try, I haven't miscued in 4 years.

I've read that this positive charge on the chalk molecules is more intensified during leap years..

Y'all oughta see this one guy. I gotta get some video of him doing it.

He puts the chalk on the floor, and spears it with his cue, angles the sucker about 15 degrees off the vertical, and uses his shoe on the shaft of the cue to spin the stick into the chalk. Man, he does the boogie at the same time.

Gets up, out pumps Mike Davis, and let's er rip! Slam, bang, watch them balls fly!
