I think the installation is the problem.

I was trying a new kind of tip a few years ago....
...the first two exploded on the lathe..( two different installers )
..took the third one to a pro...it played as good as my original Mooris.

the right equipment and know-how is essential for a laminated tip.

That's one of the worst looking tops I've ever seen.
Why don't you try one of Steamer Cue Sports Ltd. new FourSkin tops? Excellent play-ability, and with enough stimulation our top will hold it's shape for the longest time.
We here a SCSL like to put it this way: "You just can't beat out tops."

In case anyone thinks the Greek got lucky.....here is a sniper with hundreds of playing hours.

my kamui black soft has been on like 3 years now and never looked like that one.

but I have a friend who achieved that look on a kamui black because he didn't know he wasn't supposed to us a tip-pik on laminated tips.

now he does.

I've used a tip pik on a laminated tip and never had one look that way.

I've used talisman, ultraskin, tiger, and kamui. All professionally installed, used shapers, tip piks, etc, etc, etc. Only issue was mushrooming and that is expected with any softer tio

I've only used UltraSkin (Pro Soft) and Kamui (Super Soft) and never had a tip look like that.

it may be that you've been lucky thus far but, generally, tip picks or any other tools that pierce through layers can cause delaminating as they weaken the glue that holds the layers together.

Finally...a guy that uses a pik and probably read the directions on how to use it properly.

Most people probably didn't read the instructions on use.:(

Yes I also use a pik on my laminated tips.
