Why is Santos playing in the qualifier?

Hey Colin

Morro, Arturo, and I all asked the same question of why he was playing. He was scared because when he called the IPT, they told him they MAY transfer over the money from the cancelled London event to Chicago, thus increasing everyone's chance of moving up in the ranking. I still think its mathematically impossible even with the transferred money but he wanted to make sure.

As far as the qualifier went. Because I came in 3rd, if Santos makes it to the top 100 then I'm in the qualifier for Vegas. But if I play in another qualifier, which I will, and get lucky and win, then Arturo gets in. Don't ask what happens if both Arturo and I win additional qualifiers. lol. Thx Lamas also... Oscar

Thanks for the info Oscar,
You should be through with your 3rd place if they follow that through. Best of luck to you.

Personally, I think they should transfer at least the minimum from the London event into the prizemoney formula for the members. Glad to hear they are considering it. It won't make a difference to Santos anyway, he's several thousand clear of the risk zone.

Colin

The winner of the qualifier gets to play in the 2007 Tour card qualifier in Las Vegas.
Also all winners get free hotel and airticket money, maybe he just wanted to go on a holiday in Vegas :D

Oscar,
Add to Morro and Santos - Hemma and Teddy the other players you don't have to worry about at the next qualifier at Hard Times. Even if Santos in in and moves you and Arturo up - I don't think that you will take that chance and not play in free future qualifiers until you are in.

Good fortune next week. Though I wonder if Tang will be paid for Reno by then or if he like many others have given up the faith.

apology to NYC and Smashmouth

Arian, your pomposity is striking. In your need to be so right, you miss the fact that there is no possibility for santos or any other non tour card holder to participate in the chaicago event, as it is a "closed" event.

You must be one of those people who read a sentence, and comprehend what they want it to say, regardless of the content.

Perhaps you should climb down off your lofty pedestall and go and get hooked on phonics.

I apologized to you and smashmouth,,in my great desire to fend -off santos' insulters..i jumped into conclusion that he was trying to qualify for chicago(when chicago is a "closed event") without all the information.

but don't you think that you're description of me as pompous and smashmouth calling me simpleton is an overkill.take your time to think about it so you don't have to make the same embarassing mistake i made.you don't even know me.

But i guess you seem to be a self appointed "sheriff" of this forum- i dare you to take on onepocketchump as directly and as harsh as you did to me here,,,you being a champion of free speech,,,rather than complaining like a baby on the moderator about onepocket's supposedly crossing the line.castigate him yourself as you did to me...you're not a bully are you??? trying to pick on AZ forum newbies.

as for your other comment for me to climb down from my lofty pedestal...from where i'm sitting here on my lambo- i'm sitting way low on the ground already.:)

Yeah, it would be fair for the Tour Members, that the prize money from London would be transfered to Chigago. It would've been good, if as many card holders as possible, would've said to Deno about that in Reno.

Then again, they said in the first place that the price money for the 'members' only' tournaments would be 1M/event, and as they raised the pot to be 1.27M, some sort of compromise would be fair enough also.

Don't even bother, some people are just plain mean. They usually don't add anything to the discussion anyways. At least with your mistake other people can learn too.

thanks crosseye...my mistake really about santos trying to qualify.

I don't know ...

but if it was me, I would have made sure before I shelled out $1,500 to play in a qualifier that I ddn't really need to play in.

Well, considering the last Tour Card qualifier qualifiers are Nov. 24-26, and the Chicago event is Nov. 26-Dec. 3 - there's no way to know 100% whether he (Santos) would get knocked out of the top 100 (due to enough Chicago event winners upping their totals) soon enough to try and qualify for the Tour Card event.
