I hope the thread name says it all but WHY isn't Siegel-Jones being televised live...or if it is WHY is it being kept a secret as to when and what channel????

Thanks in advance for any updates.

Marketing anything is a process, not an event. The process, reagardless of the money involved, has steps to it. Just like climbing a ladder, it is not possible to magically jump up to the next level.

Give this thing some time, some chance to prove itself, and some support, if possible.

I'd put $50 for FOX network. All of Smith Co's recent works like the Swan and Hells Kitchen are on his old buddy Murdochs airwaves. It would never be broadcast live as this is being packaged as reality tv (if reality were live then it be called news). This includes much more editing for the player profiles, behind the scenes, wraps, graphics, and music sweetening. It would most likely air within a month of contest. For a new concept show like this, the first ones almost free for FOX with the producers holding back a few :30 sec segments that they sell as commercials usually to the shows main sponsors as part of the sponsor package. The show would also make money by embedded product placement, signage, and of course subliminal advertising !

Well said, and I agree Fox is my bet, and from what I hear some of it will be live as soon as the first match in Dec.

I would go out on a limb and say you are not going to see an entire match broadcast live, maybe a semi final match, but like Golf you will see them follow a few shots in certain key matches and follow the leaders as they play matches just like they follow golfers around the course, this way it will not get to boring for the viewers. something like: back to table #3 for the final 2 shots to win the set for Mike Sigel, then on to table #5 for an impressive shot by Nick Varner. So you will see live and replays of great shots exactly like GOLF....this whole tour will be patterned after Golf...leader board and all.

And then there will be PPV of the entire final match.

Hmmm, if it comes off like you made it sound, I will definately be a REGULAR viewer. Would even consider the PPV's depending on the price.

slim, that makes sense in analogy to golf when the 1st show is repurposed for Fox sports network, Sky asia, and whatever his european net is called. the sports channel will probably show more of the match in real time with less fluff as opposed to this first one in vegas which is more of an EVENT reality to kick off. What we need to know from Aussie AZ'ers is if Mr. Murdoch plays pool and what kind of bank roll he carries around ?
