Why must people make up B.S. stories when selling a pool cue on ebay?

Ebay

Well said Ted. These people have no idea of what some thing is worth. He said he had it appraised twice. He should send it Pete Tascarella to see what he says.Pete would tell him it is worth 300.00 400.00 bucks.

Just like every thread in the Wanted/for sale forum on AZ is the best cue/table/joint protector... ever made in the last 500yrs.

Omg!

Dear jay-man3,

Hello jay-man3 you seem OK My name is Frankie. On my 27 birthday [1977] my friend took me to Lori and after prompting the old man for his very best he went into the back and came out with 2 cues. The only difference was one is brown 18 oz brown leather grip and case. The other black 20 oz. Both were purchased for $2500 I gave the brown to my nephew who is now hand making cues in the Pacific NW US. He is friends with that guy Pete who works out of Balabuska's shop in Long Island. According to Fred the cue is very valuable. 2 weeks ago I brought it to one of S florida's better cue makers. He valued it at 2 to 5 thousand. His name is Dave Worowicz. Fred believes it is worth more. My wife researched the case. Empire in the UK is where it was made. It is stone edged leather. You do not see that anymore. One time about 7 years ago, I was in touch with old man Lori. He told me that the cues were hand made by Adam in collabration with Balabuska. The cues have 2 Balabuska traits. They are 57in and ivory at the joints. This story could be BS. It is what I was told. My cue has hardly been used. It is perfect and the best looking cue and case I have ever seen. It consists of mother of pearl and Ivory, with a black leather grip. It is Hand Made not mass producted. All the Phantoms made in Japan are stamped on the butt. Mine only has the Lori sticker. I believe mine could be the proto-type. I do not need the money, it has sat in in draw for 35 years. Maybe my nephew will get it when I pass or maybe I will go a vacation from the proceeds. Someone I know is trying to get it for 2, it is not going to happen. THANK YOU

You certainly may be, but man you have a terrible Sun Burn. So Kalki I would suggest staying out of the Sun as much as possible, oh and maybe add some content to a thread when you post that may also help you Sun Burn!!!!!!!!:grin-devilish:

Wow!

Like I said before the guy is obviously full of it. First he says he bought the cue from Lori in New York, well I don't know who Lori is. I do however, know of a famous Company called V Loria and Sons that has been in Business since around 1912. During the 60's and 70's they did and still do sell Billiard Tables along with cues, and did handle some Balabushka cues. But I suspect this guy is just going off second hand information or intentionally lying, but I suspect in the end it will do him little good because no one with half a brain would buy that cue the way it is currently priced.

Adams Galaxie

Jayman--- let me tell you a bit about the cue.
Purchased early to mid 70s in a pool room named Times sq Billiards
across the street from the famed Roseland Ballroom ----
---lots of one pocket action in that room back then.
The shaft that was with the cue I beleive was from another Adams but fit like a glove, about2 years ago I went to the Adams cue co. In Long Island and had an additional shaft made. As you can see the cue is beautiful condition
and has a very tiny ding above the rap. Other than that the cue is all original and close to mint condition. Regards

MCP

BS'ing to sell is no more worse than not disclosing any history that may negatively effect the value or a cue.

I bought a PJ Bluegrass on eBay & when I tried to sell it a few years layer, everyone came out of hiding to let me know the cue was damaged, fixed not by RH, and not original. I ended up taking a 40-50% loss. Where the hell were all these people when I was buying?
