Why pay to recover table

Have you ever seen them on the internet being arrogant jerkoffs? Me either.

I think a poll might be in order here!..Suitable "important" questions to ask would be---

A..Given a choice between arrogant and friendly, who would most people prefer to have in their homes, working on their table?

B..Who do you think could best do high quality work, in a reasonable amount of time? (say 2 weeks)

C..Whose, work truck, travel trailer, motorcycle and other junk, would you rather NOT have parked in your driveway for 9 weeks, while they are completing a 2 week job?

D..Which pool table mechanic do you most wish would disappear from the forums..forever?

You and Cleary both like to knock me, when neither one of you know shit, shouldn't be hard for either one of you 5o come up with the name of a pool table mechanic's name that can travel the country and do the same level of work that I do on location.

Once again Cleary, my little 'poll' joke, sailed right over his head!.. I don't know why I even bother to post such clever stuff when his grade school sense of humor, is just not capable of understanding it!..NO RKC, you are the only person in the world I know, who would 'drive til they dropped', doing what you do, and love doing it when they get there!..Now are you happy?

PS..Just don't try to match up a pool game with Oscar or Ernesto, you won't like it!..They enjoy everything about pool, besides covering pool tables!

I'd rather match it in table work, I could spot them the world....and the break! But we're not talking them are we!

So now you're the spokes person for 99.9% of the AZB members, wow....did you self appoint yourself to that position to represent the members? One thing I know for sure DICK, you won't be running your mouth to much longer, time is NOT on your side....LMAO

I'm not part of this 99.%

Glenn, If you're ever north of the border let me know, I just picked up a Gold Crown that needs some work and I want it done right.

I have a spacious, 2800 sqFt woodshop that I'll give you the key for if you need to use it

I'll jump into the fray real quick and post my answers to the poll you posted up SJD.....not because I have a dog in this fight but because I think your poll questions deserve some good answers...

A) I'll take the arrogant table man - because I know without a doubt that when I treat him with respect and kindness in my home on my table that it will be returned in spades. And by chance it isn't, well, to be honest here, I didn't bring him in to be my friend. I'm after the best craftsmanship. Period. I can appreciate arrogance.

B) I'd bet on RKC - again, you asked the magic words - QUALITY WORK. I've had less than quality and no matter the price or friendliness or any other word you want to toss in here to disqualify someone, it isn't worth the hassle. QUALITY is the key. And yep - 2 weeks max. Because I know how to motivate and inspire and reward great work. But hey - that's me.

C) If il let my brother or best friends park their "junk" near my home for any reason, then for the traveling man rebuilding my beloved billiard (anything) I don't care. Besides - I'd put him up at the Hilton for a few spa days

D) I don't have an answer to this one ---- as a substitute answer and space filler, I'd have to say that I'd like all of the posters on AZB that don't have a nice thing to say about people just sit back and read threads they have nothing to add to - and refrain from ill will and words toward others. And everyone knows what I'm talking about here - because you feel it when you read it.

Peace out boys...

K.

Do it yourself, you have as good a chance to get it right. The "professional" I paid $500 to installed the cloth upside down and it never played right. I need to get rid of the table now because it's not worth re-doing it.

All good answers K2..But in the off chance you are referring to me as the bearer of ill will, with nothing 'nice' to say about anyone, I would encourage you to first check out every thread RKC has ever been involved in!...Then please if you would, give me a list of the people he has treated with respect!.....(Trust me, it will
be a very short list).

He makes me look like a boy scout, (helping little old ladies cross the street) when it comes to arrogance and personal insults..But then, as you clearly stated, this doesn't really matter to you at all!..Also, please notice, I only go after him (or the occasional 'but-insky' that sides with him)..But then, you don't have a dog in this fight..Do you?

Peace out K.....SJD

Hello, sir.

Rest easy knowing I was not specifically referring to you as the bearer of ill will. Merely taking a few minutes to kick start the survey. It was also an opportunity for me to pull out a small little brown soap box and fill some space ---- whilst making an observation and wish at the same time.

Yes, I have read all of the comments from everyone in this thread and know exactly what you're talking about - and without getting into an arm wrestling match here or battle of answers and opinions, think there's an appropriate time for a man to step up and defend himself when provoked and pushed around. Again - one of those things we all know when we see it.

In closing, I'd like to state for the record, no, I don't have a dog in this fight - but after a few years here reading and talking and seeing and participating with many folks across this globe from the forum, realize there are those that just can't help themselves provoking others because they know the responses they'll get. I had a cousin like that once and he learned the old fashioned way for bullying others - and it only cost him a broken nose. But that was back before the www days when he could get away with it from his shed in SD. Now people disguise their (ill will and words) as feedback or comments or postings.

Many contend that respect is something to be earned ---- I was taught that respect is something to be given first. Always first. Earning comes after having done something to deserve it. And certainly never asking for it. Or expecting it.

So, with all due respect...

Why pay to recover a table?

Because sometimes it is pure enjoyment seeing a master at his craft.

Awwww, what's wrong DICK, did that fly right over your head, because a sober person would have gotten the point...LOL

But, I have to say this, it's up to you to ask the right questions to see if you're hiring someone that knows what they're doing, and I can't keep track of all the people that have called me for those questions to ask the mechanic FIRST before they hired them.

PS. Also, it's never taken me 9 weeks at anyone's house to rebuild a pool table, and was only at one person's house for 2 weeks because we were fighting with the person who sold her the Frankenstein GC3, which was nothing but parts from other GCS and an Anniversary, at which time I decided to give up and build the parts myself and put the table together.

Mr K2...All due respect also, but that could be one of the lengthiest 'non-answers' I have ever seen. (what does your cousin from SD have to do with anything?)...However, your final sentence (**) really causes me to believe that maybe you do in fact, "have a dog in this fight"! :o

SJD <---Also likes to point out the obvious! (but, its been nice chatting with you)

Recovering a table is no tougher than wallpaperimg, hanging siding, roofing, putting in a light fixture....anybody with a table and basic handyman skills can do it.
