I am wondering what people think about the Varney J/B Cues? How does it compare to the Sledgehammers etc?

Does anyone have video on breaking the balls with these cues?

Does Varney have a HOW TO for breaking with his cues?

THANKS

I have 2 of his j/b cues. Best j/b cues I have ever owned including the first generation x-breaker and sledgehammer.

Here are the very first 3 2007's.
They belong to Craig, John, and Ned.

Still no reasons to purchase one. I want the reason his cues break, and jump better than the competitions?

Also video's of the process would be great.

Send them to my e-mail

Hey Kevin nice cues......:) I still have the one that you made me. "IT'S GREAT" I have owned a lot of j/b cue, but this Varney Cue is the best so far.:D i am very happy with it.

Hey Kevin jb cue you I got from you rocks. I can not jump with a lot of cue, but your Varney cue makes the different... thanks kevin

???????????

Shouldn't owners testimonials tell you they are the nutz. Also as with all
Varney cues they are priced very reasonable. Sometimes you can pay
more an get less for your money.

Ok I'll admit I use one too, as well as every single member on both of my APA teams. Seldom do you see a cuemaker admit to using another maker's cue. I will go ahead and tell you that I've tried and there is just no possible way I can build a jump/break cue that works anywhere near as good as my Varney. All good players in this area use a Varney jump/break cue. And he give a life time guarnatee on the tip & ferrule. I've tried Fury, Xbreaker, Sledge, and all are mass produced junk compared to the Varney.

Dave, if this doesn't get you that floor-sweeping job at Varney's shop, I'm not sure what will.

I'd take it for FREE! Seriously! I'd love to learn some secret magic tricks.:D I was at his shop before and watched in amazement at how damn easy he made everything look. If you saw the way everyone around here swears by his cues then you'd understand why I believe Mr. Varney will be considered amongst the elite makers before all is said and done.

Thanks Everyone for your Opinions,It is very obvious Mr Varney has a huge following here!! :) what is the Ferrule materials on the J/B's? (Varney's of Course)

also no video's on how good the cue breaks the balls? is it the material on the ferrule that makes it an effective break cue?

That's good to read.

compared to my old Sledgehammer

1. KV's phenolic tips hold chalk
2. KV places the jump section farther back so when you tear down the cue for a jump, you actually have a better grip on the jump cue.
3. Different taper
4. You dont have to have a 25mph break speed to achieve the same results
5. bang for buck

i matched up and played some with kevin back in october when i was in charlotte for cue-tech pool school. I have to say he was killing me with his break, we played 3 races to 7 and all 3 went down to the wire so he broke around 18 or 19 times and i think he came up dry maybe once, and he made 2 or 3 on the break the majority of the time. He let me use his j/b and i have to say it felt completely different from any j/b ive ever used. I dont know if its just stiffer or what but it feels huge, you just crush the rack with it. I didnt get to jump with it but kevin put a few good jumps on me with it so i imagine its good that way too. If i hadnt just spent the money on school and another cue id probably bought one from kev.......as soon as i get rid of some cues im gonna get my name on his list.

I have a video of AFTER the break and me running out lol... but I don't have the video of the break. There were only 6 balls left though, so the running out part was easy :D Search youtube for hierovision or "after the break".

It just feels different in a way that makes you more confident like you have more control. I've tried fury, stinger, mcdermott, and predator bk2. Only thing that came close was the stinger and my varney feels better balanced. As far as spread the Varney gets better results every time as well.

he came up dry once?!? kevin you're slipping... lol. :p
I've heard his break is pretty top-end as far as power too.. so he's bound to sink one or two if they bounce around long enough :D

Jazz!!!!!!!!

I don't think I'm looking for a job. You have MG an X for breakers that are fairly expensive for a production smash an frog pole. We have a member that sells production jump breaks for $60.00. Why buy a production J/B
when you can buy a custom in the 1/2 half priced range. (Varney
Sorry I upset you Jazz I'll try to be more careful of what I post. There I said that V word again are you going on another rampage. Maybe just maybe you've been standing in the purple rain to long. I got news for you theres only one Jimbo an your not him.

Wow, you interprete a lot from my simple question "do you have one?" Your posts infer that you have one but it's not clear so I'm asking the question.

Please don't open question into another Varney or Jimbo *controversies". I just simply asked you "do you have one"?

IMO he was just hyping the hype. It didn't sound like he was saying he had one, just that he was noting all the owners speaking up in praise. Do YOU have one? :p
