Why would I shoot better with my one piece house cue?

Ok so I'm pissed my Cuetec has a crack and I'm leaving it alone until I hear back from Cuetec on warranty. So I've been shooting at home with a one piece Pooldawg house cue. I'm shooting really well. My guess is it's because I suck and the 13mm shaft with a nickel round tip is helping vs my 12.75mm avid shaft with a dime radius tip. That sounds accurate?

bigger tip is more forgiving.

Because we all begin playing Pool with a one piece cue maybe it was 55" or 57" conical taper (showing my age) or a 9" pro taper. Isn't that really what our two piece cue supposed to feel like??

The Avid should eally be better since many players swear by it. Could the PoolDawg cue be better because:

Differences in cue-tip type?
Differences in weight balance? Avid has Acueweight Gen II weight system --- maybe its a bummer?
Differences in total weight?
Differences in taper? PoolDawg sells a house cue that has pro taper --- maybe you like that better than the Cuetec's "signature super-straight taper";
my Cuetec has a crack
Could the Avid's problems been more than just the cracked --- cracked what? Ferrule? Shaft?
Is this your PoolDawg house cue?

This is the set I have: https://www.pooldawg.com/brand/pooldawg/action-one-piece-cue-bundle

My crack is on the side of the cue at the threads on the butt. It's not affecting anything but it just sucks. Lol

MAybe the Avid just doesn't fit me well. I played with a Falcon for like 28 years and switched to this Avid 2 years ago. I regret selling that Falcon. Lol

Carrying a one piece cue is the problem ..take it in a bar/pool hall, the owner might think you stealing one of his cue. I saw a Falcon Cue on ebay.
My Brother-in-law play with a Nick Varner signed Falcon , but the shaft is so cake with chalk, I don't know how he can play with it.

because when you play with a new cue or a cue you are not used to, you pay more attention, you're more focused so you pocket more balls.
A few more sessions and you'll go back to play just the same as you did with the cuetec.

Another thing is when a lot of player grab a cue with standard deflection, coming from an LD shaft, they use less English which makes them miss less. maybe this the case for you as well.
