I hope this isn't to similar to the thread about the standout cuemakers. Maybe some of you could post what was most memorable to you about this Super Billiards Expo. Perhaps a shopping experience, seeing a match, or meeting a new friend. It doesn't even have to be a happy thought necessarily, it could be a story about flight delays or some other hassle. Let us hear why you will remember this years expo.
 
Evgeny Stalev

I will remember the pro match between Johnny Archer and Evgeny Stalev although I nearly fell asleep (thanks Johnny). I usually don't get too caught up in the visuals of a players setup and stroke during play, but I will say that Evgeny has a wonderful stroke and command of the cueball. I wasn't familar with Evgeny prior to this event. I really enjoyed watching him play and look forward to seeing him in future Blaze and pro events.

In addition all of the great cues, cases and other billiards related products.
Thanks again to Allen, Dawn and the whole crew for making this a wonderful smoke free event, we really enjoyed it.
 
I will remember this Expo because of one very special couple.

I will also remember it because none of the Seniors' or Womens' matches ran more than 1/2 hour over the 2-hour time slot allotted.

I'll remember all of the AZers I saw again or got to meet for the first time.

It was great hanging out with the AZers, players, cuemakers, and industry people at Jeeves' Inside Pool party. That was the best event of the weekend.

Two AZers and players I had not met before were John Schmidt and Charley Bryant. Both were really good guys.
 
I'll remember Valley Forge for the action, the people, the debut of the TRUESTROKE and it's success, the cues, meeting so many pros, breaking even with Corey Deuel, kicking the 9 in on Charlie Williams, everything Larry Nevel did for our product and just hanging out with him in general, hanging out with Charlie Bryant alot too, and for pissing off an entire pool room (Classic Billiards).

A couple of things make this year quite memorable....1. Seeing Bill Schick inducted into the ACA HOF...2. Taking delivery of a brand new Szamboti cue....3. The WEATHER !!
 
#1. My discussions with Billy Schick about how to identify Balabushka cues and the past 40 years of the cue making industry.
#2. The snow storm.

Yes you are right. And just to make you jealous, I got to take Samm out to Long Horn for super. Okay, I fess up there were 3 other people with us and it was not a date. All cuemakers. We all ate steak and she gets a cup of soup and one of the biggest deserts you ever saw. She did manage to trade some cake and ice cream for some prime rib.
 
Most memorable

Watching Tang Hoa play Shawn Putnam. Nobody should have lost that match. They both played their hearts out with some phenomenal moves and shots.

I was lucky enough to go to dinner with both of them this past weekend. Samm has been playing with my cues for the last 3 years. You won't find a nicer person in pool. Chris.
 
My memorys will be dinner with Samm, marissa, debby, rob, allen jr and the runout tshirt model. ( forgot her name) The inside pool party Thanks Jeeves, My talk with fred, jimbo and JR. Meeting all my friends again for our yearly get together. Chris.

Was it a tournament or money match? Who won, and what game were they playing? Just curious, Tang is a friend of mine, haven't talked to him in a while.
 
Meeting John Schmidt, Corey Deuel, Charley Bryant, and Rodney Morris they were all really friendly and approachable. Allen and Dawn Hopkins were also 2 of the nicest people you could ever want to meet. Wish I could say the same for some of the other pros I met. The Inside pool party was alot of fun also. Charley Bryant showed me a draft copy of his new book that he is working on. Johnny Archer puts you to sleep watching him play in person, a big sore loser. He plays so slowly and his pre shot routine is very monotaneous to watch. The action tables were really fun to watch also. The no gambling signs everywhere were a joke :) The dealers and cue makers were also great to meet. So many beautiful pool cues, and got to test hit many. My rental car windshield wiper broke on the drivers side driving back to my hotel during the sleet/snow storm. I had to wait 3 1/2 hours in Collegeville for Budget to bring me a replacement car :mad:
 
1.) The ride down in a snow and ice storm on Friday night. What should have been an hour and a half drive was more like 4 hours. There was a car accident every mile or so and we kept having to pull over to remove ice from the friggin' windshield.

2.) Meeting up with Icon of Sin and Eric. was also a blast. We had some dinner, played a little, and had a few laughs. That was a great time.

3.) Driving four hours in the snow/ice only to match up with a player from my home room!

4.) Standing around with some notable AZers (who shall remain anonymous to protect their own reputations) and making fun of a few other AZers who really piss me off.

5.) Getting hammered on Friday night, missing JimBo's party AND the Jeeves party because I was too drunk to play but too drunk to walk away from the game. But I only wound up losing $100!!!
 
I can't believe I forgot, Hanging out with timberly. We went to classic billiards and watched Nick Varner play a match. Chris.

It was a tournament match...and a great one. There wasn't many mistakes made by either player the entire match....you could count the total mistakes on one hand. It was a battle where each player would win one game and the other would win the successive game. It came down hill-hill. The final game was filled with great safety play by both players and incredible shots. Tang came out on top, but both players played extremely well...could have went either way for sure.
