Will FBI help me?

Hi all,

Recently I got burned by an internet scam. I was told that FBI will take care of this type of fraud. I have his name, address, and banking account. Should I report to FBI and seek for help? How I should do? Does anyone have similar experience?

If it's legit, expect help. If you lie, you'll get what you deserve.

Personally, I can't say I'll look into it. Someone will though.

Very sorry to hear. Hope it wasn't too big of a hit.

I haven't done it but I know the FBI will take a report here:

This in in conjunction with the FBI but I doubt there will be any real follow through. This is the fastest growing area of crime and law enforcement just can't keep up with the complaints.

Also... be sure to file a police report in the city where the suspect lives.

You should report it to your District Attoney. They will decide the depth and jusisdiction of the offense, and notify the proper authorities, i.e., like the KBI
(Kansas Bureau of Investigation, FTC (Federal Trade Commission), etc..)>

I believe the FBI investigates federal crimes, if it crossed state lines or international borders they may be of help. If it involved the US poastal service contact the fraud division. I successfully put a person in jail and received all my money back with the help of the US postal service, and the local police dept in the town that the offender lived. Contact the IP provider as well because they keep records and are against there service being used for illegal purposes. The way the law sees it is, the offense is committed at the point of inception. In my case an item was advertised for sale on an internet website, I sent payment and received nothing. Keep all your phone / email / check stubs / or receipts and any correspondence that you have and make copies of all. Follow all the instructions as to filing times to make claims and be meticulous about it, one misstep and you may screw up your case against the perp.
