Perhaps someone has posted this before. It is Will Smith playing 9-ball on a Japanese TV show:

I don't know if you'd call him a C player, but he plays ok. Certainly he's spent a bit of time on a pool table in the past. His stroke is better than most actors that have portrayed pool players in movies.

I'd still give him the 7ball lol.

But yes he does look like he shoots pool often, he bridge and stroke was pretty good. And he seems to know how to move the CB around the table.

Not so bad!

This man is full of talents... music being so so.

Nice vid anyway! Thanks for sharing :D

That's not WILL SMITH. That's BUDDY HALL made up to look like WILL SMITH. He's evaluating his options now that his competative days are winding down...

I have that SAME Lucasi cue. I don't play with it anymore, but I still have it. Too funny. Radial pin, not a fan.

-yow!

pretty decent shooting by will. I think he occasionally plays for recreation. nice grip on the cuestick and good form in every shot, low and close to the chin. pocketing is not that bad, so just some basic fundamentals on CB control and positional play is what he needs.

He isnt a C player but he could give Paul Newman the 7 ball and rob him. Its clear he has played a bit of pool, with some instruction he could be a C- player in a relativly short period of time, if he did the work.

On the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Will Smith had an episode where he got into hustling pool. He got himself in over his head and his uncle Phil had to come to the bar and bail him out. Nobody remember that episode?. I bet he had some pool instruction so he didn't look like a fool. That was back in 1991 and if he kept up with it, he'd be pretty good by now.

Edit: Just found this link that says Max Eberle worked with Will Smith. Explains the good form.

You kidding? Paul Newman was a pretty good player at one time...much better than Will is in this video...

What's with

the Playing Snooker title? ....LOL The Japanese have never played Golf on a Snooker table before or they wouldn't number their pockets like they did!!!

But, I loved the audio and visual effects before the shot .... :D :D :D

Can't we Americans incorporate a little of that? Seems more exciting ... ROFL
;) :D ;)

I think the best actor that played a pool player was the guy who played Minnesota Fatts in "The Hustler" I forgot his name though but he had a realy smooth and loos stroke, realy nice to watch!

I liked how the title at the end of Part 2 was 'King of Ball'. :p And the title of the movie was 'Will Smith Plays Snooker'??

My guess is that those young lads were all Japanese actors. Will played like a C player, but knew how to shark like a B player, lol.

Jackie Gleason. Supposedly he was a VERY strong amateur player before The Hustler; used to play for money frequently. I read a story that the guys he used to play at the pool halls got so tired of losing to him they got Willie Mosconi to play him in disguise, just to teach him some humility. Not sure how trustworthy that story is.
