I know this info is somewhere on the forum, just can't find it.

What's the difference between Brunswick Willie Hoppe cue(BWH), and a Brunswick titlist?
Titlist was one piece used in pool hall, and BWH was a two piece cue produced by Brunswick back then in smaller quantity, is this correct?

Do they have the same full splice construction? Which one is superior in quality, and harder to find? And which is more expensive?
Thanks in advance,

The Willie Hoppe "Titlist" was I one piece house cue and the Willie Hoppe "professional" was a 2 piece cue with a leather wrap which was made from a "titlist" blank.

Wimpy's differen't than brunswick?

In my avatar are pictured the Newer (70's) Willie Hoppe's made by wimpy . both are new unplayed. mark

Correct. The early Hoppe Pros as they're called have an ivory "Hoppe ring" and sold for about double the price of a Titlist. This 4 point, 4 veneer cue was also known as the model 26.5 and the Carom King before being renamed to the Titlist and Professional after gaining endorcement from Willie Hoppe in 1941.

Around 1970 these cues were made by Schmelke. The Signature and the Personal were both made.
This has been argued in the past but I believe they were made by Schmelke around that time frame. I have several cues that say Brunswick on them with that joint type but none with the Titlist style forearm.
Mr. Hoppe has not been here in sometime. I fear the worst.

thank you for the info..... I am looking at having Jacoby Custom Cue refinish it with a updated joint as I want to add to the rotation and start using it again, I was playing with it back in the late 70"s before I was 18 :)

reading the forums the titleist conversion had no wrap and the hoppe did, Jacoby thought this was a conversion,
now I don't know
Titlist conversions had wraps, depending on what the customer wanted. From the factory Titlist cues were not wrapped.
I am no one to argue with Jacoby, but I would say it is untouched.

I tend to agree that it is untouched as my uncle moved to Florida in the 70's and I think my dad was given the cue
before he moved and my dad did not do anything with it before I started using it.
it would be nice to know what it was before it was refinished.... but if not thats ok to

How does it play? Seems to have a little family history/sentimental value?
I hate cutting the old ones up unless they have a bad shaft warp. Even then I turn my head when the blade hits them.
I bet even if it is converted you may not like it as much as how it is now.

well I have not used it, since I was a kid to be truthful, kinda afraid I guess....the guys at jacoby looked at it rolled it on the table
and not much warp they were kinda impressed, I did buy a new joint from schmelke for it kinda thought about using
the new joint when they refinish it, I want to keep it as stock as possible.
