Willie Mosconi's Original Balabushka at Auction

I know he played with a Rambow at Jillian's opening in Seattle. Not sure when that was, but I think mid-80's.

But back to that Balabushka - it sold for only $80,000:

I guessed less than 100K, someone got a fair price for the cue with a strong double provenance. The Adam at 19K was more than I had figured ,at 8K, must have been a lot more interest than expected.

The auction people estimated that the Adam/Helmstetter would sell for only 2,000-3,000. I wonder if he ever played with it.

Yeah, at $80K I don't think we'll see it in the classifieds here any time soon. I thought my high internet bids on the George and A.E. Schmidt cases might hold up, but not anywhere close on either.

I live 15 mins from the city and mural is still there to my knowledge. pm me if you want me to get a good shot with a DSLR...
