hey mr. betmore, was wondering if you could post some closeups of your side pocket(s) on your Gold Crown IV? i believe we have the same table mechanic, and i was curious as to whether your side pocket facings look the same as mine?

6 weeks till Peoria.
doesnt look like i am going, however.

DCP,
I'm not digitally tuned in, but if my daughter can take a picture I will (though I'm not home until tomorrow). I've never given it any thought, but your picture looks fine to me. One issue, though is that your table appears unshimmed, and the rather wide angle side pockets do tend to spit balls back at you (we play on similar pockets at Airport), a ball hit from very far away from straight in can hit the facing dead square and come right back at you, or jaw out easily; you MUST aim to hit further inside on those Airport tables.

The Diamond sides are definitely tighter, I'm not sure if their angle is steeper, but I think so. I just played 12 hours yesterday on a VERY tight Diamond (tighter than the ones at Chalkies), and those sides are just giving me nightmares. I much prefer my double shimmed GCIV.

thanks willie.
you'll be happy to know the pic of you shooting at the DCC with the bridge, the one with Jeanette leaning over on you, is now my wallpaper on my PC here at work.

people been asking me who that is...............

I've only played at Chalkies once, but from what I remember the pockets on the tables I played on were certainly not pushovers.
BTW looks like we have a nice Indiana thread thing going on here.

SPIU,
Not only are the Diamond side pockets tighter, they are also cut deeper away from the playing surface. DCP's side pockets are buckets.
