Interesting. How and when did WWII effect the use of metals in the ferrule?
Thanks. I will read that. But from the first Hoppe cue I found, I seem to have learned that during WWII brass was replaced with something else during the war years. Copper was used before the war.

Yes the early Hoppes(41 to 44) had a joint that was made of a black material, I'm guessing the same fiber substance that the butt caps were made from. To my knowledge copper was never used on Brunswick cues.
