But let's make it 10-ball instead of 9-ball. If it's gotta be 9-ball then no 9's on the break--spot the 9 and take ball in hand.

Irrespective of the rack mechanic issues...
The best way is rack your own. The incentive iss there for each to put up what is sufficient for their needs.

They seem to understand each other perfectly.scary isn't it ? Also Coo Coo's post # 11 needs a little work ! Does he just bang away and hit submit ? Fatboy could give him the 5 out in a spelling contest.
Maybe I'm just jealous because his threads get so much more action than mine do.

I personally do not like the Winner Racks, Winner Breaks thing, as the first time I encountered it, the guy I was playing was Manipulating the RACK so the NINE BALL was almost Sure to Pocket on the BREAK.
I got tired of say you have a LOOSE RACK PLEASE TIGHTEN it UP SO ALL THE BALL TOUCH.
I like Winner Breaks, Looser Racks.
Cornerman said:I guess I don't quite understand. At the BCA event in May 08 in Las Vegas, NV, we played ALTERNATING BREAKS. The only difference this year was that it was rack your own. And of course, it was an 8-ball event.
So, I think your entire question is a bit misleading.
I definitely like racking your own in 8-ball and 10-ball. If it's rack your own in 9-ball, then I'd like to see the 9-ball not count on the break.

He'd be calling you that no matter who was racking, provided he was stuck in the match and/or just missed a ball. Pretty standard operating procedure for him. The foot-stomp after a missed ball is always entertaining too.

Jimmy M. said:If your opponent is racking for you, you'll probably be getting looser racks, just how you apparently like 'em.![]()
The problem is that some people are never happy and use it as a sharking move. They keep nitpicking the rack, asking for rerack after rerack. When this happens it throws their opponent off the game, which is the intended purpose.CocoboloCowboy said:I don't break em, they rerack, until they are tight.
Most people realize if you check their racks, each and everyone, they will do it right.
