WNT Florida Open 2026, August 4-9, Orlando, Caribe Royale

It's going to suck when Thorsten, Lukas and Tyler are in the Mosconi Cup team and Bergman is sat at home.

Matchroom messed up by giving 3 automatic places for ranking.

works both ways. europe can get oliver szolnoki as an automatic.

i like automatic picks in general, because it rewards tournament success. i'm sure you would agree we have seen enough of the "hook a buddy up" system too

You can't have a tour and a season if there is not a reward for the players.

Besides, players should have to earn it. Not Thorsten's fault that SVB, Gorst and Sky have missed events this year.

Lukas might not play for a while, so I'd expect him to be overtaken. We'll see.

The current top 3 don’t have a ton of points. A few deep runs by Bergman, SVB and Gorst in these big events and they will qualify, IMO.

I've decided I'm rooting for Anthony Meglino. Don't know much about him. Watched him play once; shot great. I think he's got a full-time job. But American pool needs some new blood on the scene, so go Anthony! Get ye on the MC!
Meglino ain't exactly "new blood," he's easily in his early 40's and a well established player. He's one of the top 10 one pocket players in the world. Yes he has a full time job, I'm pretty sure he's an engineer. A lot of people could be pros but make way more doing a real job lol.

He is a great player but I definitely would not put him in the top ten of any game.

Twelve Americans advance.

Thorpe should have been one of them. Couple of bad decisions cost him vs Eklent Kaci. Meglino also lost a tough one to Stefan Huber, 10-9.

Top players ousted:

Naoyuki Oi
Jonas Souto
Mario He
Jeffrey De Luna

Those were the only four players in the event who have Fargos in the top 100 globally to get ousted. The other 39 players with top 100 Fargos advanced.

Bergman plays Jesus Atencio next.

SVB gets Souquet.

Tyler Styer vs Elliott Sanderson.

Skyler vs Petri Makkonen.

Either Chris Reinhold or Shane Wolford guaranteed to get to the final 32. Styer could play the winner.

Styer has the easiest path to the semis, then Sky. SVB would probably have to go thru Filler.

Bergman would likely run into Zielinski if he gets past Atencio.

He's a relative unknown at the pro level. I'd take a 790+ 80yr old over the same few guys choking at the MC every year.

interesting sponsorship strategy for mickey krause. his own cue brand:

haven't really seen that since varner and archer. it's quite low tech too, with regular maple shaft

Who makes Krausecues?
I was curious too and quite surprised to find out. It's Mickey Krause and "Aaron the Pool Shark." Website: https://krausecues.com/pages/meet-the-founders
