I like it other than the fact the world championship prize dwarfing every other tournament means if you reach the final of that then you are in the Mosconi even if you are terrible for the rest of the season.
I think Matchroom has backed away from exclusion. They made a mistake with Josh, felt they couldn't give SVB a pass, then realized they just pissed off the two most prominent pool players in the world. A bad look, and it appears it won't happen again. We'll see.
Szolnoki has been excellent this year. The best I've ever seen him play. Certainly as good as any US player not named Gorst and perhaps SVB (who looks a bit rusty after missing the UK and European opens).

US supporters/fans would be counting their lucky stars to be fortunate enough to have a fluke world champion. And that person would be deserving of a Mosconi Cup slot even if they played like shit the rest of the year.
Losing finalist also pretty much guaranteed a place too. I was thinking of 2024 when Kaci went in-off in the deciding frame v Gorst in the final. Don't think Kaci did anything else of note that year, got in the Mosconi based upon the back of it and didn't look sharp at all, losing his only singles match (his record in doubles matches was good, but from what I recall he didn't play well and his only positive contribution was his break, think he had a t least one golden break). Thought Kaci and Krause were both poor that year, but Europe still won because Shaw and the 2 Spaniards were so good
Agree, but Bergman is a better player and should win.
