I like it other than the fact the world championship prize dwarfing every other tournament means if you reach the final of that then you are in the Mosconi even if you are terrible for the rest of the season.

Also hate that they sometimes just veto players that should have earned it on ranking just because they've played a rival event like what happened to Filler one Mosconi and Shane one Reyes.
 
bergman vs atencio will be a good match to sweat, not least considering how flawless bergman played against vogel.

that match may shut molina mike up for a day or two

yapp faces christopher tevez, that seems to be in good form. could be a trapper for the yapper

I think Matchroom has backed away from exclusion. They made a mistake with Josh, felt they couldn't give SVB a pass, then realized they just pissed off the two most prominent pool players in the world. A bad look, and it appears it won't happen again. We'll see.

Szolnoki has been excellent this year. The best I've ever seen him play. Certainly as good as any US player not named Gorst and perhaps SVB (who looks a bit rusty after missing the UK and European opens).

US supporters/fans would be counting their lucky stars to be fortunate enough to have a fluke world champion. And that person would be deserving of a Mosconi Cup slot even if they played like shit the rest of the year.

Losing finalist also pretty much guaranteed a place too. I was thinking of 2024 when Kaci went in-off in the deciding frame v Gorst in the final. Don't think Kaci did anything else of note that year, got in the Mosconi based upon the back of it and didn't look sharp at all, losing his only singles match (his record in doubles matches was good, but from what I recall he didn't play well and his only positive contribution was his break, think he had a t least one golden break). Thought Kaci and Krause were both poor that year, but Europe still won because Shaw and the 2 Spaniards were so good
 
Yapp did not play well. He looked shaky even when advancing in the Vice City Classic and he was shaky from the very start of the Florida Open.

Max Lechner also ousted by AJ Manas, but not really an upset.

We had 43 players with top 100 Fargos in this tournament at the start. Eight of them are gone, 35 remain.

I was "underwhelmed" in watching yapp. Spent a great few days down there, and Yapp wasn't great. Eklent and Kledio looked sharp. SVB and Filler looked dominant. Bergman showed up last night. Should be an exciting finish.
 
Rusty Skyler Woodward pays for his lack of play. Ousted by Petri Makkonen. Pijus Labutis gone. Denis Grabe gone.

Raymond Linares should have beaten Mickey Krause. Seems nerves got to him in the end.

Bergman jumped out to a 3-0 lead on Atencio, but it's about to be tied up. Atencio can jump, Bergman can't, and it's already come into play.

New American Thorsten Hohmann is as consistent as always. Into the final 32 to play .. Stefan Huber next. Chance to get to the final 16, where he would likely play Makkonen.

Sky looks like a man with a family and other priorities in his life then being a champion to me right now. That’s just my opinion and I hope I’m wrong.
