Women and Pool

I was playing pool the other day and was shooting pretty good until a women challenged me and I swear a 4 year old kid could have beat me. Since then I have noticed that when I play against women my game is really off. Has anyone experienced this before. The sad part to this story is the woman was a long way from being hot. I have played against women that can run circles around me so I am not putting down women at all. Just wondering why this would happen.

Just play the table..not your opponent. You need to focus on your game and forget everything else when you come to the table.
 
I had problems beating women (on the table) until I lost a little money to them. After that I think I played beter against them then the men. Last one to beat me was Miyuki Sakia in Lakeland, FL Johnnyt

I did this same exact thing twice in my life!

The first time was against a lesbian, and she was hot!!!!! I took it for granted that she wouldn't win, and she whooped my butt!!! After that she always wanted me to be her doubles partner when we were at that bar.

The second time was when I was stationed in Korea. This girl kicked my ass 3 games in a row, and she was hott too! Which I played off that I was too drunk to play! I was really drunk, but I had been kicking all my buddies butts that night on the table.

I did the only thing I could do after getting beat by her. I married her! LOL

I don't underestimate any opponent now. I don't care if they are a female, male, adult, child, etc.

I had a friend that used to poke fun at people that didn't have a cue that was worth at least $500. That was until I whooped up on him repeatedly with my $125 McDermott.

The only thing I can tell you is to play the table, and never underestimate an opponent.

If you underestimate your opponent you are leaving yourself wide open to get hustled!


By the way, now I love to watch my wife get underestimated by guys on the pool table! I wish I could get her interested in playing in big tournaments, but she doesn't like pool like I do. Just just does it to socialize and drink a few beers.

The tendency is to let up... don't. Play like you're matched up against your archrival...

... that is, unless she's your sister. ;) :p
 
Like I said she wasn't hot at all. I have never played those big $ games like alot of you people. I usually play in a bar and take some drunks money. Then sometimes I lose my ass.
 
Playing a girl in a handicapped bar table tournament, giving her the 7, 8, 9, IIRC. Race to four, 9 ball. I didn't take her seriously enough and now it's 2-0 her. She misses in the third game and I run out. 2-1 her. I break and run out, 2-2. I break in the 9, 3-2 me. I break and run out, 4-2 me. Wouldn't even shake my hand. Thought she was supposed to win, I guess.
A few years later, another bar table tournament, 9 ball, race to four, again. Playing a real looker, Farrah Fawcett blonde hair and all the rest of the goods. She's only got as far as she has because guys have been letting her win all night. Long story short, I beat her 4-0. She was furious. Didn't even speak to me again for about 3 or 4 years. Good looking women don't intimidate me anymore, even if they can play.

Now the thing is, the poster has no problems playing women who can run circles around him but he got beaten by a not-hot woman. And he was wondering why.

It's funny I have this exact same problem (curse). I'll beat the best guy in league play and lose the the worst chic. If she's hot or ugly matters not. I just play bad against girls. If fact the worse the girl is I'm playing the worse I play. My league buddies laugh everytime they see I have to play a girl. Now don't get me wrong sometimes I still win but there is an obvious drop off in my play.

I guess all those years my dad told me he'd kick my @ss if I ever beat a woman went too deep:eek:

The only thing you should do is place all your cues in a Federal Express box and overnight them to me.

I have no idea. The point is, you need to play the game, no matter who you're playing.
 
I know that with me, I won't woop on a girl if I like her or if she's my friend. I might win, but I never just shut them down. And if I really like a girl I usually try and lose on purpose but entertaining (i.e. caroming my cue ball off the OB and into a pocket for the scratch, jumping the cue over the table and scratching basketball style, and banking my OB into hers to make her ball.)

I had to show a girl that I didn't like her in this way once, I played the entire game one handed and left handed... and won pretty easy. She didn't even get the point.

Very brave fellah posting such condescending stuff in a site frequented by women, some of them pool players........though your judgement of what is "entertaining" suggests a short break from pool rooms might be good for perspective:o :)
 
It happens. The first time I met this girl, she beat me 5x in a row that night. But now, it's always on.
