Why does it seem that women are less likely to wear a glove?
I'm not saying there are none who do, just looks like it's a lot fewer than the men.
I've been watching several female matches and none of the one's I've seen so far seem to have this need that the men do to wear a glove.
Seems weird.

Also, why were players a few decades, or even just a few years, ago, perfectly able to play amazing games with no gloves?
Look at Fats, Mosconi, Efren, Bustamente etc. etc...

Is this glove graze just a fad that will run its course like so many other things seem to do in the world of pool?

Right now watching this match by the way:

I know very little about gloves, unless it's the ones we use on a cold Winter's day, but the obvious reason Fats, Willie, and the rest of the boys didn't wear one is because the pool glove we use today wasn't available in their time. Had it been, then doubtless someone probably would have.
As for Women, I think Jeanette Lee wears one, and looks damn good in it, I might add.

Perhaps there's a genetic predisposition to sweating? IIRC, women have higher density of sweat glands than men, but men sweat significantly more per gland than women.

Why do policeman wear black shoes? I've noticed most wear black? Is this a fad that will run its course like so many other things in law enforcement? Seriously, WTF?? Are you the re-birth of poolchump????

The match you're watching, they both use an OPEN bridge. No need for glove. Johnnyt

I'm with you Tramp! She could wear a catchers mitt and make it look hot! 😆

They're told to abide by the dress code.

The rest isn't worth commenting on.

Besides it's policemen not man.

On top of that, isn't it considered sexist today to say policeman?
Isn't it police officer now? Just that I care. Just saying.

Just imagine how little worth the rest of your stuff is if all that came from just your first sentence.

As to the first part, they're both using both open and closed.
Besides I said I've been watching several female matches and only posted the link as an example.

As to the second thing you said, plenty of people who use open bridges wear gloves.

Yes, she's one of the ones who has always worn a glove

and

1. she can find it in a size that fits.

2. uses plenty of open bridges.

3. is known the world over for not being a big sweater.

Tramp, a little off topic but I'd like your opinion. Gonna get some new ink and was thinking about getting Black Widow holding a cue or a nine ball or something. Cool as sheet or a little weird - what say you???

I thought that it was the women that started the glove use in pool.

Men wouldn't wear them as it was then considered to be too feminine.

First off, I like tattoos that are in good taste, so if you use Miss Lee as the subject, then my thoughts would be to keep it respectful ,and dignified.
However, a Black Widow spider which just happens to have her eyes and smile, say, and holding a pool cue, would be cool as hell, too. :thumbup2:

Yeah, definitely classy - my guy wouldn't do anything but..... he is one of the top artist in the country and in extremely high demand. So much so his books aren't even open yet for '17. Also he is VERY selective in 1) who he will work on and 2) even more so what he inks. He's been wanting to do more traditional Japanese style so; I've been wanting to get a pool tat but as you said I want something classy ( not tacky as hell as most pool tats are ) so I figure since she is Asian and he wants to do those types and he is awesome at portraits it would be a good fit for both of us. My only thing I need to figure out is size. While I don't want her to Tae up my whole back lol ( I have many idears on different ink I want but only so much space lol ) but the artists like to go bigger especially with portraits because the bigger, the better detail is shown. The artist name is David Wah. If your into tats, check out some of his work, is is just awesome. Has done some KILLER gambling tats as well.

Jeanette has said publicly that her family sews her gloves for her.
"At a fundraiser for a relief effort in Waco, she played opponents for donations and the winner got her glove"

Very gracious lady.
