how do you spell this type of wood? it is the burl wood that starts with an A and here is my try Abonya ????? Can some one help me?
It is dark brown. if that helps

the burl of Pterocarpus trees, originally exported from Ambon, but now from many locations in SE Asia.
 
Thanks Joey. That is good info. So this wood is soft and for looks. Is that correct?

It's not realy a soft wood, but it is unstable and likely to warp or crack. The same is true for burls of most any wood.
