I have said same thing, there is a 'slight' more 'oomph'(real scientific saying) when driving the cb forward. Varies from shaft to shaft but in just about every cf shaft i've tried it was easier to drive to cb around the table. My experience with CF is that it imparts more energy into the cue ball.
No I mean the Chinese that came lateri assume you mean the taiwan chinese, if you're talking about an invasion. they don't come from snooker, but they have had tight pockets on american tables a long time
Shirt and ties too.'Carbon's Witnesses'. They're out there, look for guys on bikes with cue cases.![]()

Chinese 8-ball for Dang, Super tight tables in Taiwan for Wu. Though snooker was popular before Ding, just Ding took it to new levels, It's picking up again now since the banning of a load of top pros for match fixing not long ago saw a drop.ok, but the snooker boom in china came around 2005 when ding junhui got famous. before that it was mainly pool in the mainland (snooker in hongkong). i'm not sure any of the mainland pool pros come from snooker, wu and dang certainly don't
It's this marketing propaganda that has made CF has popular as it is... Notion of performance gain is complete bunk.
Use it, don't use it. I really don't care. I'm amazed I still having experienced some CF users coming to my and knocking on my door with pamphlets.
NahSaw this movie the other night. Dude looks like he is playing a cf shaft. The movie came out in 1996.
When I see some CF shafts for 200 bucks, and then the big boys with their cf shafts at $500, it makes you think.
Betcha I could miss just as many balls with the 1996 model as one of the fancy high dollar ones of today![]()
Yup. If there wasn't money to be made, no one would be telling you it was 'Low-deflection' mega-carbon ultra tech shaft. Turns out people part with their hard earned dollars pretty easily.I bet it’s cheaper to build carbon shafts than produce wood shafts thus raising the margins for cue manufactures. Could have something to do with something. You can find blanks for $35 on facebook. I am sure purchasing in bulk will yield a lower cost still. Fill it with foam, put a joint on, add a tip.

Technically friends and I did that in the 70s.i wonder. is there any evidence of chinese 8-ball before 2000?
Those black shafts back in the 90's were fiberglass, played like sh*t.Saw this movie the other night. Dude looks like he is playing a cf shaft. The movie came out in 1996.

Can't argue with this... I do know I've had greater success getting energy into the CB with my CF breaker. So much so, it's justified the expense for me. So, by extension I'm forced to agree that in regular play one could 'swing easier'. Which in turn could potentially keep the player's mechanics sound.I have said same thing, there is a 'slight' more 'oomph'(real scientific saying) when driving the cb forward. The cat's out of the bag on these CF shafts and cues. Rhino and other companies have blown the lid off their competition with the lower priced options. US cue manufacturers have been laughing all the way to the bank with those high dollar CF shafts they can't keep in stock. Probably not laughing anymore.I bet it’s cheaper to build carbon shafts than produce wood shafts thus raising the margins for cue manufactures. Could have something to do with something. Agree big time. There is NO way i'm gonna play better with a $500+ cf shaft than with a 150buck Rhino. I know a cat who bought a $70 shaft off Temu and it hits great. A tad more squirt than a Rhino but not much. Its a OKHealing out of China. They started making cf boat oars and shit and got into pool shafts. Lotta shaft for 70bux.The cat's out of the bag on these CF shafts and cues. Rhino and other companies have blown the lid off their competition with the lower priced options. Unless you're still buying one.![]()
$70...? That's amazing. Almost want to buy and play with one just to mock those 'heavy investors'.Agree big time.
