Work needed for a Schon shaft to fit on a Joss butt.

I am curious if anyone here has ever had a Schon shaft fitted (by a repair person) to a Joss butt, and how much did it cost for the repair?

I know that the shaft needs to be tapped (for the threads to fit correctly), but I am worried that that will not be enough, because the pilot is very big, so maybe too big to fit into the joint of a Joss butt.

Just curious if anyone has ever gotten this kind of repair done, and what all the repair person needed to do it make the Schon shaft fit to the Joss butt, and how much the repair cost?

I just do not want to be over charged, but I think I only have 1 option if I want to get it done locally.

I know that it will not fit, because I just tried a Schon shaft (that I received in the mail today) on my Joss butt, and it did not fit, so I just want to know if any others here have gotten this exact repair done on your Schon shaft (to make it fit good on a Joss butt)?

Help? Anyone out there? People here must not like me (for some reason), lol, because I never get any replies to my threads anymore, or maybe the questions that I ask are just too stupid to get a reply, lol.
 
Personally I would sell the Schon shaft and buy one fitted to your Joss. Trying to put a different thread can cause a lot of problems.

You would need to have the pilot turned down a little bit, and check the joint face for square. Price should be cheap 20-50 depending on who does it.

Providing that the butt and shaft diameter are close, it wouldn't take that much work.

Will is the cue makers name in Evansville. He is a good guy and a member here, altho he hasn't posted in a very long time. Sorry but his last name eludes me at the moment.

Hopefully someone who reads this will remember. Its on the tip of my tongue and going to bug me now.

Another approach would be to replace the pin on the Joss with a Schon pin. While the original pin is out, the Joss joint can be widened a bit to fit the Schon pilot, if needed. Your old Joss shafts will still fit.
