Right now there is a qualifier for the World 8-ball Championship, played in Paris. The single elimination is about to start, with 32 players left. Don't know how many spots they've got, but guess 1.

Here's a link for the live coverage of the matches:

I think Thomas Engert and Darren Appleton will meet in the final, but hope Jasmin Ouschan will make it.

4 spots for (if draw is possible)

Serge das (OFCOURSE!! :D)
Foldes
Engert
Petroni

I'd like to wish Serge good luck! he deserves it a spot in the WK

What about next round then? And who will be the last 4?

There is always one or two set-ups. Who do you think it can be? I think Paddy McLoughlin from Ireland and Jasmin Ouschan can make the final 4, if they are on top of their game.

Serge Das and Fabio Petroni will meet in the quarterfinal, if they keep winning... Both can not proceed...

Some few "errors" (from what I thought) and upsets:

Babica won against Facquet
Menillo beat Engert!! :o
Erculj beat Beauflis
Paddy won against Serge Das
young Albin upsets Alcaide
Azizizulah lost to Kraljevic :(

With the results, this should be the next round:

I have of course tried to guess the winners of that round too. (in red)

Radoslaw Babica 0 vs 0 Patrick Menillo
Erculj, Matjaz 0 vs 0 Ouschan, Jasmin

Schmitt, Marko 0 vs 0 Petroni, Fabio
Jungo, Dimitri 0 vs 0 McLoughlin, Paddy

You're dreaming ! ;)

Well, my picks for the 4 spots are in order of the draw :

BABICA, Radoslaw (POL)
JUNGO, Dimitri (SUI)

OUSCHAN, Albin jr. (AUT)
FOLDES, Vilmos (HUN)

And I'm inflexible ! ;)

NO WAY Darren Appleton will lose against Foldes.

I have 20 $ ready to back up Darren, so do you really believe in Foldes? ;)

If they meet : Yes I do ! D.E.A.L :D

Do not underestimate Foldes abilities in 8 ball !!! I know Appleton is the incontestable favorite in this match, but Vilmos is a dangerous underdog ;)

I know Vilmos is capable of winning lots of big events in both 8-ball and 9-ball. But when facing a hungry, dangerous Darren Appleton on his possible way to Fujareh (sp?), I think Vilmos has got no chance... Darren was ranked nr 1 in UK 8-ball for 6 years, I think.

But of course he can lose, David Alcaide, one of Europe's best 8-ball players just lost to 17-year old Albin Ouschan Jr.

It will be an exciting match, pity it isn't on livestream :(
