Until pool manages to present a governing body (world wide) that is accepted by all pool players, nothing will change!..The BCA and the WPA are totally ineffective and are often at odds with each other..The PGA, the PBA and the WTA (Tennis) have managed to pull it off quite successfully, along with almost every other professional sport/game on the planet..Pool has not even came close! :confused:

Barry Hearn is possibly the one man who could create such a successful entity, as he has done with snooker..It is hard to blame him for not trying though..The pool world has been so disorganized, for so long, who would want to take on such a thankless task! :frown:

PS..Not all that surprising though, given that almost no two pool players can agree on anything, let alone 400 million of them! :o
 
A world 9 ball championship serves no utilitarian purpose in society without eyeballs on screens and bums in seats. The worldwide infrastructure will not crumble and society will be no worse off if a new champion is not crowned.

Pool like all sports are for entertainment, and it's great entertainment. But if pool fans can't watch it, there is no point in having it and it certainly isn't a world championship. Without spectators professional sport is no different than a local pick up game, just with a bit more pageantry and played to a higher level.

we been getting screwed for 7.5 years. at a minimum but i'm sure more like decades lol(political joke).....ssdd

Doesn't seem like much of a sporting event to care about if it can't be watched, one way or the other.

Agreed and my concern for the future of US pool (by which I mean all games played on US style tables) is that sponsors and promoters will take risk, but only to a point...

If you were Barry Hearn, would you back Chinese Pool or US pool to complement your World Snooker franchise?

Not that he has to back either of course, but unless something changes quickly and he does decide to back Chinese Pool (and why not) then it could be very bad for US pool.
