World Championships Pool Juniors and Girls

AZ guys whoever are going to be in Willingen, keep an eye on Chinakhov and Pruchai from Russia! Though still being Pupils (under 16) according to EPBF (meaning they will play at Junior level at least two years more), both are ready rivals for adult pros. Just note Chinakhov's results at two last Eurotour events, finished 3rd and 5th. Sad that Ruslan has broken his elbow during the WPC and though he is without bandage now it could influence his game. I hope it won't.

Here's the 2 Filipino representatives for the said event:

Canada is also sending Marina Linguerri again. She finished 4th in the 2007 Canadian Womens Open.

Go get em kid!

Props

Gotta throw in some support for my local hero Mary Rakin! She's got the biggest smile and a killer stroke. Her whole family are terrors on the table! Hope she does well and has a great time. Great opportunity for these champs to get some experiences they will have the rest of their lives.

Stephen lammens ready to play at 12.00 and if he wins he will play Ko, who kicked serge das out of the WPC... didnt know Ko was so young  man that boy must be good!!

Just wanted to say best of luck to Matt Lawrenson from U.K..this kid is the real deal a quality player...was junior 14.1 euro champ, 4th in UK pro tour and has beaten Daryl Peach a few times in the past in Pro events.

Live Streaming Video Available

You can watch the next match LIVE now if you go to www.wpa-tour.com. To view the LIVE video, click on 'VIDEO' on the left side. This should bring up a windows media player screen. Video quality is smooth and the sound is great.

The next match is supposed to start in less than 15 minutes (8 am US eastern time). Not sure who we will see in the live video stream but I can see Mark Mendoza from the Philippines practicing on the tv table.

Based on the schedule, his opponent will be the current Champion WU YU LIN from TPE. If this is the match they are featuring, it will be an exciting one between PHI vs TPE.

If that doesn't work;

Go to http://www.wpa-tour.com
and click "video" on the left

Download and install VLC player (link on the video page), right click on the live stream link and "copy link location"

Open VLC player and go to file-open network stream, click the http option and paste in the link, click OK

et viola

Draw was cruel to the Russians, forcing them to encounter in Winners round 1 already. Meaning only one will go to Winners qualification, other will have to fight in Losers bracket.

Seems there is no way for Mac users to follow live stream from Willingen? Or VLC Player (which I love and have installed on my home PC) is available for Mac as well (didn't check it yet)?

updates anyone? thanks
the report is on AZB main page now.
At the moment single elimination is in progress, Chinakhov beaten by Shibata 11-8, Wu Yu Lun defeated Nico Wehner 11-6, Landon Shuffett trailing Thomas Luttich 5-8

the direct link to live stream is mms://fast.kozoom.tv:8080 , Windows Vista users are advised to use mmsh://fast.kozoom.tv:8080

Finland's Petri Makkonen performed well putting out both filipinos before losing to Mathew Lawrence after Mathew put on a nice performance in the last 16. Mathew played well also in men's EC this spring. Definitely worth watching out for as well as Makkonen from Finland, already a junior European Champion. But the Taiwanese are soooo strong... Ko and Wu going strong.
