World Championships!!

Pleasure meeting you at SBE!

Sarah:

I'm at the normal day job at the moment, but wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know how much of a pleasure it was meeting and chatting with you in the Mezz booth. You took time out of your show schedule to spend time with those interested in your career/progress, and believe me, fans remember that. Thanks for the signed cue-ball and the patch (the latter being attached to my cue case now).

As an aside, I was pretty surprised that Mezz placed a Valley bar-box in their booth, when SBE is predominantly a Diamond-sponsored event. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, Mezz's table was the only Valley bar-box in the whole show. And, it had really slow nap cloth on it (Mali cloth?). After grinding it out in "The Pit" for a couple days and getting used to Simonis 860 on a Diamond, I hit a brick wall with cue-ball position on that Valley with nap cloth. In our challenge match, I tried to play safe on you by tucking the cue-ball in behind a couple blockers, and it (cue-ball) died a few inches short of the desired position, leaving you an open shot, dab nab it!! :D

Gotta say though, those Mezz break cues, although significantly shorter length than I'm used to, hit like a freight train. Nice to see and hear Mika spin around and exclaim "Wow!" after my break!

Also, please share my congrats to Jason for penetrating "into the money" in the Amateur Open. We talked about how there were some tough nuts to crack in that one (e.g. Price, Clatterbuck, Souvanthong, Barnes, et al.), and it was nice to see Jason do well in such a field.

Hope to bump into you again soon either on the tournament trail or another expo!

Warmest regards,
-Sean
