World Cup of Pool 2014(Portsmouth, UK) 23-28Sep (9ball Scotch Doubles) Winner $60K

Majed is a good player, but he has a lot to work to became a force in world pool. His couple errors was fatal.

Does anyone else think the Diamond is on the slow side? I have seen most of these players stroke over the years and to me it looks like they have to pound balls that should only need a medium stroke for on most Diamond tables. The cloth is Simonis, so either it's not stretched real tight or it's very humid there. I'm going with it's humid there. Johnnyt

One of the commentators did say it was very humid in the arena.

Looks like the balls are sliding a lot or maybe I should say spinning like on new cloth that is very slippery. I see a lot of hesitation before draw or follow catches.

With 3 balls to go, Souquet with an uncharacteristic miss on a gimme 6 ball in the 3rd game, giving Canada the game to cut their deficit to half, trailing 1 game to Germany's 2...

Souquet miss may be costly
Now canada 2-2 and they are breaking
no upsets so far earlier today so i smell and upset in this match :D

Canada making most mistakes from Morra but yet they are only 2-3 behind
I still think they may upset Germany
So far scrappy match. poor safeties , bad misses

Thorsten and the two ball slice off the foot rail.

Just now, when Thorsten was partially snookered on the two ball against Pagulayan and Morra, he swerved the cue ball by putting side spin on it, and made the two ball.

While it looked like a great shot, I have to wonder if it was a great shot or a fortunate shot. It appeared that the side spin would allow the cue ball to go under the two ball and kick it safely down table, instead, he pockets the two ball.

What do you think? Intentional pocketing of two ball or the result of attempting a kick on the two ball and fortunately cutting the two ball into the pocket?

I think it was a missed kick Joey. I believe he was trying to spin the CB enough to come off the bottom rail and make a full hit on the 2.

I know the shot with a ball on the middle diamond, ball spotted and the CB directly in line with those 2 balls on the middle diamond and loading up the CB with inside to go around the spotted ball.

But the 9 ball was about half the distance between rail and spot on TH's shot. And that makes the shot that much more difficult to judge the curve around the 9.

That 's my case anyway for he actually played the kick!! :p

If the cue ball was further from the rail and he could have used left center I'd say he played it. However with
the cue ball close to the rail and him hitting down on it and using low left I'd say he was trying to come of the rail and kick it.

Don't fukc it up John! He just missed position on the 6 with the match tied at 5 games apiece...
