World Cup of Pool 2019

USA scorecard

OK you should be finished with supper by now. Which player for team USA bears the larger responsibility for the end result?

Both were awful but I think SVB has the larger responsibility.
At 3-3, USA had ball in hand, but SVB ****ed up. At 3-4, they were in control until Skywood ****ed up. The pair seemed demoralized at this point, and SVB hit a terrible shot on the 2 to gift Holland the next game.

I think a lot of teams underperformed.

Race to 7, single elimination is a lot of pressure.

It's also hard to get into rhythm when the matches are
every other day. Then its scotch doubles and alternate
break. So the players aren't getting many shots.

True. Here's what led to the 7 games lost to the Netherlands:
  • Game 3 -- Shane kicked and hit the 1-ball after the opponents' safety, but he left a shot. The opponents ran out.
    Game 4 -- Shane missed a rail-first 2-ball; the opponents ran out.
Game 6 -- Shane kicked and hit the 2-ball after the opponents' safety, but he left a shot. The opponents ran out.
Game 7 -- Shane hooked Skyler for the 7-ball. Skyler hit it, but he left a shot. The opponents ran out.
Game 8 -- Skyler scratched on the 3-ball; the opponents ran out.
Game 9 -- Shane missed a bank on the 2-ball; the opponents ran out.
Game 10 -- Shane missed a thin cut on the 3-ball (which he had already missed once); the opponents ran out.

In their winning match Tuesday, SVB fouled or missed 5 times to Skyler's 3. One of Skyler's misses was after quite lousy shape by SVB.

Shane looks real bad when you start listing
every error or bad judgment.

Anyone with Friday's schedule or filled bracket? TIA

same conditions for all.

Sounds like in the early games, they got outplayed defensively, then when feeling the pressure once trailing in the mid to latter part of the match, they made some costly errors. Scotch doubles is certainly a different animal than individual play.

Wow, another horrible horrible blunder by Magi!
I think Grabe wanna kill him now!
Canada comes back from 0-4 to beat Estonia 7-6!

Left-handed Johnny and the Four-eyed Lion move on to the second round.
The kid plays good with the wrong fin. And the glasses make Alex look like he probably can't play at all. Here's a picture from Matchroom that sums up the match pretty well:
