World Pool Championship to leave Saudi!

The Hanoi Open has been a huge success despite the flooding last year.

The Florida Open was a big success last year.

The Philippines Open had a strong first showing.

All of these events were better attended than most or all of Predator's events.

WNT has issues, no doubt, but it's not falling apart. I would be surprised if its bigger foray into the US doesn't turn into good success, too.
It would be sick if they held the WPC at Classic Billiards in FL. That place is lively as fk! Fans would love it. It would actually be fun to watch with crowds cheering instead of the usual library scenery in Saudi.

Would definitely make some vomit to hold a World 9 Ball Championship in a pool hall.

Germany is a more central location, but Hanoi brings more fans and is closer to Asian players with less money to travel.

PS: I just remembered, Frazer traveled to Qatar last November during the non-WNT affiliated Qatar Open, right after the end of the Philippines Open. I was surprised to see her there, and wondered why. It's still a mystery, but could be WPC related.

that's lala land stuff.. qatar has even less fans that saudi and is still affected by the regional war. the current threat is infrastructure and desalination plants. i don't want to be gloomy, but i doubt the qatar open will happen either, or have a decent turnout if it does happen.

just put it somewhere safe, and where there's more than twelve people in attendance

It's not going to be at a pool hall. It will be at a convention center at a hotel or casino with their own tables.

Yeah I know that's the norm, I'm just saying that kind of experience would be dope for the fans. I can't think of any other sport where the pro players are so accessible to fans. But you're right, the WPC is too large of a scale and player field to host at a pool hall, it would kind of be chaotic. Maybe if the US Open does well at the new Texas venue that could be a possibility.

Wasn't a recent tourney held in a mall? There seemed to be people hanging from the rafters. Did they have to buy a ticket to watch? Seems to be cheating if you claim a huge attendance and counting people who were out shopping and just stopped to watch a pool game next to the mall fountain...

Unless attendance is only number of tickets sold...

Predator doesnt even sell tickets. All I know is what I saw. Lots of people attended and watched and the atmosphere was quite good. Players really seemed to enjoy it.
