He lost to Chang from Taiwan 8-3. All the matches yesterday were blow outs except the last match, Lee Van vs. Huidji See. Both played well and Lee Vann made a terrific run out in the hill-hill game. The Table is a Chinese made Star table that looks identical to a Gold Crown V. Ralf plays Mika and Efren has Darren in the first matches today. Then the round of Eight starts tonite. I love pool in the Philippines, no where else quite like it.
Most of you would hate the format, old fashioned 9-Ball, and short races to eight, winner breaks, no call shot. I think it makes for great TV, every shot in every game is vitally important, and there is immediate pressure on both players. Funny thing is that the guy who plays the best usually wins, even in this format. What pool comes down to is who handles the pressure the best. The folks at Matchroom understand this and continue to put on first class 9-Ball events, among the most exciting pool tournaments held anywhere. THe Mosconi Cup and the World Cup are just without equal for excitement and drama. The Masters is one more shootout that promises some thrills and spills before it's all over. I'll keep you posted.
