The finals will be held Sunday. Live scoreboard will be available starting at 9 am US est.

Team Philippines (Alcano, Orcullo, Corteza, Manalo, Lining)

vs

Team GBP (Peach, Appleton, Mark Gray and Imran Majid)

Who will be crowned the champions?

f210 - you forgot Karl Boyse in the GB Team! ;)

To any and every pool fan out there, keep an eye out for next year's dates and then book yourself a trip to the World Team Championships. I was only there for 2 days but it was 2 of the most exciting days pool I have seen in a long, long time! Imagine the excitement and tension of the Mosconi Cup, only with more teams playing and more disciplines being played. Great, great stuff.

Sorry about that. But then I forgot to include Warren Kiamco for team Philippines too so that makes it even.

The Finals

Looks like GB is ahead 3-1, with Alcano and Peach just starting their match and Appleton over Orcullo 3-0 (race to 8) in the final match up.

Things are looking good for GB.

Well if Orcullo lost 7-1 to Appleton then I don't feel that bad with my 7-0 loss to Appleton.....
10ball is his game! he has the best 10ball break!

CONGRATS TO GB!!!

for me darren appleton is the mvp of the tournament. he won every important match from the beginning and was a real team leader.
in this condition, he is a big favorite for the next events!

yes that's true it's Daz who won a chance for a shootout vs China and it's him who has vast background of gambling best Filipino players, thus enough confidence to play them even and beat them.

Disappointing lack of congrats from all you Stateside forum members.... ?
Very uncharitable of you guys!

Uk did it the hard way... Germany, China, Phillipines...

Credit where credit is due...

Definitely. Great Britain earned it. Congrats to the UK.

Germany should learn from GB in concentrating your superstars on one team instead of splitting them up.

Also, Philippines probably would have faired better with a team of 4/5 instead of 6.

it's a new format and executed far away from america.
i'm pretty sure, it will establish amongst the big events in the next years as one of the most valuable tournaments in the world!

Great Win for the UK! Next year anywhere but Germany.

Those announcers....., Im trying to think of something nice.............uh.......

One more great win for the UK. The days when they could only play snooker are long over. They've got serious some pool players over there, and damn good ones at that! They've won more World Championships in the last three years than any other country. By far!
I'm curious what the final pay outs will be. Does anyone know?
