Would This Cue Flaw Bother You?

Seems like I should update this. I talked to the dealer I ordered through today. I was given a choice to return it and wait 6 more weeks or 20% off.
20% doesn't really seem like enough but that's what I went with.

Well at least you had a resolution. End of story.

Lay it with the ding facing up and drop a drop of medium superglue into the dent after wiping it clean with alcohol and let it dry overnight.

Then wet sand it by hand with 1500 grit sandpaper until the superglue is flush with the cue. Polish it with some fine rubbing compound followed with wax. May not make it perfect but you won't notice it anymore if you take your time on the sanding and polishing.

This gives you a chance to gain some nominal skills you can use over and over again.

Great tip.

On a ding this small, do recommend using a block and if so, what type? Wood, hard rubber, foam?

If u plan on using the cue on the regular then I would just take the 20% discount and play the heck out of it. Small dings and scratches are inevitable. Seems like no matter how careful I am with my pool cues that it's only a matter of time before there is some sort of cosmetic damage. Cosmetic issues always really bother me at first but after a week or so I can deal with it much better lol. I just try to keep issues to a minimum and always put my cues back in the case. Good luck though and play the heck out of that thing.

Pretty good brother. This new normal is brutal. Haven't hit a ball in a while. But we had some good times at the Cue and Cushion. Hope you doing well.
Same here. I may get to hit balls for a couple of weeks next month in Ohio...for the first time in ages
Best wishes

As long as it's straight, I would personally take the 20% (that's what, $30?), slap a happy face sticker on it, and then go shoot.

I received this cue last week. It came like this. To me it looks like the wood was dented before the butt was stained. It's a Schmelke and wasn't that expensive. It's only a small spot. I'm not sure if I should expect more, less, or exactly this really.
I waited slightly longer than expected for it to arrive and would like to, you know, actually use it. I feel like having it made right could also take longer. Half of me wants to keep it and half wants something from another brand, even if the performance is what I expected.

What would you do?
Take a glass bottle and rub over the dent. That should take the dent out.
