of course I would I love watching pool being played by top pro's and I would like to see more national tournaments to spectate.

How about a PoolPlayerAlliance.I'd donate twenty dollars a month for at least a year just to see what would happen.

I would definitely invest 10 dollars and prolly even more if it meant I could actually watch pool on TV. I'm tired of watching the same WPBA reruns on TV. :)

First of all it is not a simple poll, there are many factors that must be considered and the first one that comes to my mind is who would controls this operation?

In my opinion their are few if any people currently promoting this sport that I would trust to properly adminster and operate the programs this money could generate.

I think finding some one to control the operation who is beyond repute and fully capable would be much more difficult than getting people too donate $10.

Like always Manwon make sense of many thing. AMEN.

Support pool games or just 9, 10 ball or one pocket?

My problem is I'm a 8 ball player, 14.1 player and there are not enough events for these games so why would I support something that has so little interest for me?

My answer.....No

Am tired of working to donate to everyone that chose not to work.

Let the pros donate $10. They are the ones making a living from it. Kind of like union dues.

You know something, Book? Your resonse makes more sense than any I've heard today. Well done. :)

First of all to those of you that voted, so far, thank you for taking part. Out of seventy-five voters, 89.33 % of you are in favor of paying $10 dollars a year for the promotion of the games of Pool, Billiards and Snooker.

That's a very high percentage. So it's obvious there is a demand for more exposure of these games.

Your question to me is, "How can this be done? And even more of a question is, how do we know we can trust you or anyone else for that matter?"

They are great questions. And they deserve an answer.

Some of the posters have already come up with some good suggestions.

More streaming is a great idea. Challenge matches is also a great way to go. How about we have a King of The Hill, challenge match, once a month, and the vewiers get to vote on who they want to play the next month. I'd also like to add more money to some of the more established tournaments, such as, Turning Stone, The Derby City Classic, The Reno Open, and of course The U.S. Open. Just to name a few. Probably double if not triple the amounts of monies added to these events.

This isn't a political way of bailing out the game. It's a fiscal idea that's highly feasible and affordable to each and every one of us. Like a lot of you, I'm paying a reasonable amount of money to play on various tours and different leagues and I don't begrudge these people anything I pay them. I just think we need to invest more into the promotion of the game and collectively it's a lot more affordable. I'm not trying to put people out of business. I'm trying to increase their business by bringing more people into the game.

I'm also going after room owners, cue makers, and anyone else making a living off of the game. I don't think it's outrageous to ask a room owner to pay five dollars per table in their room per year to help promote more people coming to their rooms. Or ask a cue maker to donate two dollars for each cue they sell over the course of a year. If we're bringing in more players they are going to sell more cues.

To the people that aren't interested in donating the money, I completely understand. Based on the things that have happened in the past in this game. I probably wouldn't trust me either or believe this was possible.

I just started the poll because I had to start somewhere. It may possibly never happen. But then again, it might.

I know I got the interest of a few of you posters. I'm also not crazy enough to think I could do this myself. I'll need a lot of help. I have some people in mind that I think are some of the most trusted people in the business and I want to talk to them about some of the ideas.

Thanks for the interest. If we need to make decisions on what and where to spend the money, we could always do what I did. Start a poll on AZ and let the people decide where the money is spent.

That's all I have for now. Thanks for listening.

i for one read your response to all the feedback and i see now where you want to kinda take this. in saying that i just want to let you know i heard johnny archer on the seminole live stream this last weekend and he says he is trying to unionize the players with the help of others. i think you should be having a talk with johnny and put your idea's together so you both can go in the same direction ! might be more effective.

I do miss the old Pro Tours

I definitely would contribute to see some kind of Pro Tour, like the old Camel Pro Tour...... However, I kinda believe all those who say pool isn't really a spectator sport that is going to make it on TV or otherwise. The evidence seems to confirm that the only true fans of watching Pro Pool are pool players themselves, and not a lot of those, for that matter....considering the number of league players in this country, seems there ought to be a lot more support for the Professional game....maybe a lot of people like to play pool, but not watch it played by the best....

Invest?.. sure... I know I spend more than $10 a month now.

The new CSI Pool League asks for only 50 cents a week, that is more than $10/year. So those league players are already doing it.

Is there a more direct 'investment' you wish to share?

"Invest" usually means there is some type of 'return on your investment'.

If the ROI is the continued success of a pool room, doesn't that satisfy your question? Yes I spend $10/year to promote the games.....

Promoting pool???

Thanks for taking the time to vote folks.

The problem is: not enough of you voted. About one out of six people that viewed the poll. That's not a good ratio or a fair way to establish, public sentiment.

It would be nice to know where more people stand before taking under the type of project and work it would require to get the job done. This isn't politics where twenty percent of the people vote and some clown gets to sit in his office for two, four or six years and make bad decisions at the expense of the taxpayers.

I'm being vague and overly cautious expressing all of the things I'd like to get done for the game because in the past, I felt some of my ideas were used by other people, hard to believe.

Please vote. I need to know how you feel.
