Wow, I was just watching Earl strickland playing in a match with his OB-1 Shaft. All I can say is WOW !

Stricklands Stroke + OB-1 Technology = HOLY SHIT !

I just watched Earl do things with the CB that many have only dreamed about. After the match I spoke with Earl and he told me that playing with the OB-1 has inspired him to want to play more. Earl's OB-1 has very little taper. in fact, it's straight back for about 20+ or so inches.

I saw Earl play in Charleston a couple of weeks ago and he was using an OB-1 shaft and I know what you mean, WOW. His stroke is so powerful plus that shaft equals some unbelievable cue ball action!

Mike, did he happen to say what shaft diameter he uses? 12.75 mm?

Doc, Earl specifically asked me not to tell how his OB-1 is set up. He stated to me that playing with his OB-1 was a distinct advantage over other players and he really didn't want anyone to know too much about it.

Before he chucked his cuetech I scoped his shafts and they were closer to 11 than 12mm with no taper for a loooong way.

How he made a ball is beyond me.....

Well....that should put to rest the indian or arrow debate......

It may be the most talanted indian in the world, but without the right arrow....that Indian won't reach his full potential.

major equipment changes

Earl has just made a handful of major equipment changes. That takes some adjustments and some time to get used to for anyone. Things should get very "interesting" for his competition just shortly!

Hu

speaking of equipment, does earl still wear the baseball gloves and all that other paraphernalia?

Where's RBC to chime in?

Royce seems to be a great guy from having spoken with him a few times.

I love how the shaft is basically, completely symmetrical. I have only one complaint about having used one for about 7 months...I hope it doesn't break.

I will consider continually purchasing them still. I like a smaller taper though. Have to turn it down a lil'

Earls Cue

I took lessons with Earl a few weeks ago and he wanted me to play with his cue. It may look strange with that taper but wow does it play great. I played with it for about three hours and you can put a remarkable amount of juice on the ball.:D

I believe there you got little bit wrong the numbers. Maybe you meant closer to 12 than 13mm? Still, I would believe his is closer to 13 than 12mm, but below 11.5mm is way too thin, especially for Earl..

The first thing i noticed when I bought my OB1 was the amazing ammount of spin I could get on the ball. I can only imagine what Earl's stroke could do with one!
