I'm 14, and I've only been playing for about 5 weeks, playing one day a week, an hour a time. I've been going to a league for these sessions, and at the beginning I could barely hit the on ball. I'm improving so fast it's unbelievable! I just made a clearance and I'm feeling so good! (I no this is nothing to most of you guys but it's a lot for me! :D

I had ball in hand, shot the 3 in the top right, drew back for the 4 ball, shot the four in the bottom left with a touch of bottom and potted the 5 in the same pocket. Then I potted the 6 in the side, drew back for the seven in the opposite side, had the natural angle to get to the 8, drew back for the nine and shot it straight in! And I've had so many "nearly" break and runs - it can't be long now! And just wait till I get my cue! :) Hopefully when we get a home pool table I'll be able to tape some videos and put them on youtube! Sorry but I just had to say all this - I'm so happy with the way I'm improving! :D

BTW, I'd post a diagram but I don't know how to post the cuetable thing. Someone help me out?

Congratulations kid. I really wish I had started when I was 14. Good luck to you sir.

PS: If you want some advice, quit the game now before you're addicted. It's worse than heroine.

Feels good, doesn't it?

and the more you learn, the more fun it is. That was a nice 3 ball shot with the 3 rails for shape on the 4, by the way. You have come to the right place here, many people here that can help you along to learn faster.

We have pro players that post on here quite frequently, as well as many posters from Europe and Asia.

Also, check out http://TheActionReport.com

Welcome to the board, and have fun Playing Pool. I have, for 46 years, and still counting .... :D

Yeah . . . What he said

Think of the pain and agony you can avoid by not having to go through deep withdrawl . . . you need to take some "strokesogone" now . . . works kinda' like methadone . . . you won't ever be able to pot a ball and it will keep you from robbing billiard supply stores and stuff . . .

In all seriousness . . . don't ever quit until it doesn't become fun . . . when you lose sight of that aspect, then any game becomes unplayable.

Yeah! Hopefully I can get a break and run soon!

sweet

There are guys on my league team who have been playing for
10+ years and can't draw the ball.
Keep it up and I hope our team doesn't meet your team :)

good work mang :) The first runout is always an awesome feeling. I still remember the layout of the balls when I had mine (in 8b).

Keep at it and don't be afraid to ask if you've got questions. Watch lots of pool too.

Eric.
Yeah.... me also. Touch of bottom, natural angle, break and runs, potting balls. Quite the vocabulary for only playing 5 weeks.

Eric.
I was thinking the exact same thing. What league allows players that are 14 to play? Must be a junior program. And, he's been playing for 5 weeks and can play long table draw shape from the 3 to the 4?

Something smells..............

But, Maybe I'm WRONG ( "sometimes" I Am)

LOL.... I had typed out a lengthy reply, but I deleted it.
This new poster uses proper punctuation and paragraphs and speaks as an older adult, while claiming to be only 14. He spells 'know' incorrectly (no), yet uses " " to emphasize key words. He runs out and plays in a league at 14 and after a few weeks. He can't use the Wei table, but learns how only a few posts later.

Doug
( it didn't/doesn't pass the smell test..... imo ) :)

Edited to add: odd username for a kid.
