The closing words from two of pool's talking heads at the end of the Window's Open podcast today.
MOLINA MIKE: Let me let me ask you this, because you've been around this sh*t for a long time, and I'll end the show here. Do you really think that that rule gets changed?
MIKE PANOZZO: Yes, I do. I do think that. I do think that it gets changed. I think that cage has been rattled enough. There's been enough consensus among everyone.
There are very few people in the world right now who aren't on the WPBA board who are defending the current policy. Okay? If it was 60-40 In favor against the policy, I'd say maybe not. but it's like 97-3 that this is just a bad policy that needs to be changed, needs to be updated.
They need to think about the women a little bit deeper. They need to look at this list that they've come up with and say, "This is a stupid long, big list of people that we're limiting their play. Okay? So we've got to come up with some alternative."
I don't think the alternative is going to be just open the floodgates and play wherever the hell you want. I think there will still be some kind of restrictions on top players, and we'll see what they are. But if everybody can live with them going forward, then I think it's win-win.
So I do think it'll be changed. How quickly, I don't know, but I I would hope by the end of the year so that they can start January next year with new rules in place. That's what I would hope for.
MOLINA MIKE: I got a lot more faith now, after hearing that from you, buddy.
