WPBA FL bracket format

FYI- The bracket format for the FL tourney is now up on the WPBA site (Thanx Kelly ). The points system for this tourney is a bit diffrent than the past tourneys. Plus anyone who finishes above 9th place will be on TV!! If you wanna take a peak, here is the direct link:

Hey Tom,

This was discussed in another thread (here is the link)...

Karen is dropping a 1st place finish or 200 points, while Allison is dropping a 9th place finish or 50 points. Thus for this tourney any points earned would be added to these scores:

Karen: 1420

Allison: 1425

All Allison needs to be #1 again is to tie will Karen or place better than Karen. As it stands points wise for this tourney, there is no potential for a points tie.

As far as winning this tourney....my money is on a totally diffrent pony.

Howdy Tom,
That is a possibility only when Allison is the favorite of the WPBA Board.But the past record has not shown WPBA getting involved in that kind of buisiness practices and also there is no indication that karen was disliked by the WPBA Board.Cheers

Tom,

The real difference in the points is at the bottom. Now if a player shows up they get 20 points and 33-48 gets 22.

This tournament is like NASCAR where the points winner will be decided in the last tournament. It can't get any better than that.

Quite correct, Mike. Still, it seems strange. Why should WPBA San Diego count as much in the rankngs as the more prestigious BCA Open, US Open, or WPBA Nationals?

Harry,

I don't agree that points should not be awarded with this different format. It's going to be interesting with the redraw with the final 16 and then single elimination format. The competitors should be prepared for the biggest games of their lives!

After all, does tennis or football or any other sport do double elimination on a Professional level?

This should be a very interesting event.
