WPBA Hollywood, FL

With 4 of my 5 picks in the final 16 I'll say A. Fisher Vs X Pan in the final.Johnnyt

Looks like Pan Xiao Ting has recovered. She played in a tournament in Shanghai last weekend and was really sick with a cold.

Melissa Herndon is in the semis. Congrats to her. She really has had some good luck at this event. It'll be a tough battle, but I'd love to see her shock everyone and take out Allison and either GY or XT.

I am not sure what you mean by luck she beat some tough players, including GYK and Helena. I think the only thing surprising about her position is that she has not gotten this far before, Melissa is a great player.

wasn`t she once on ESPN match ( semi final) in US open few years ago? I am getting old, can`t remember anything.:D

That is possible, I think you may be right...if so it has been awhile and long overdue.

I meant luck at this event in general. She made the TV rounds when this event first went to the 16-player format and the quarterfinals were best of 7 tv matches. She seems to pick up her game at this event. No disrespect meant at all. Melissa is one of my favorites and from looking at the brackets, she's had a great week, beating some very good players.

Melissa Herndon finished third at the 2004 WPBA US Open, beaten 7-5 by Karen Corr in the televised match to reach the final.

Allison beat Melissa and is headed to the finals, looking for her first win for the year. I am routing for her to get it!
