What a performance by Siming. They may ban her from women’s tournaments soon .:grin-square:

Its good for the game. If they wanna win they better get of their ass and start working. She's raised the bar. A BUNCH.

Actually the bar has been raised for a while it was a great tourney however its called the masters however it was missing countless top players and had from what I see only 2 top 10s

I take it back that her fargo is inflated by 15-20pts.

781 is fair and she's a better shot than Corey

Good to hear you change your mind, sir.. I really did think she was dogging it a little when she played Donny. I am not not sure yet if she could beat people her Fargorate in long gambling matches, but I say that is only because of lack of gambling experience. Give her 5/6 gambling matches against tough opponents, and she might improbe enough to become the first woman rated over 800..

Karen Corr was at Triple Nines in Elkridge, MD last night, watching the JP Newt tour event with her neck in a brace after her recent surgery. Of course when she was seen banging a few balls around on the shimmed table in the back, she didn't miss a shot.

I watched some of the live stream and Siming looked good. To the person who though she plays better than Corey (I am assuming you mean Duel) I would disagree. I would love to see Siming play in the US Open or the Derby City 9 ball. That would be an good test for her to match up with some of the top level players. With all due respect to Donny Mills, to me he is a mid level pro. Now granted the mid level pros can smoke most of the pool players around but they are not the elite players like a SVB would be. They could get a set here or there against an elite players but it is the top level pros who are winning all the US opens and such. Seeing Siming match up against the likes of a Jayson Shaw, Chris Melling, SVB, Ruslan and others would be a cool thing to see.

She shoots straighter than Corey, but if they played a bunch of sets, Corey would win 65%.

Siming Chen is playing in the 43rd US Open 9-Ball Championship, how deep will she go at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, April 21-26?

Sorry i was at work all evening.

Thanks to all involved - i had this running all weekend (until this afternoon). Great players, great stadium, i liked mary doing the commentating.

Thanks again for putting this on and having a great stream available to us!

Kinda like it used to be with Balukas. 31 years later.

Nah-There are many ladies closer to her speed than there were close to Jean when she was playing.

It is 9 Ball- a few bad rolls vs one of those other killers and it can end badly. I'll take the field over her in the WPC, Amway or China Open cheap if anyone is interested.

If she breaks good(isn't 9-on-spot??) she could go a ways. She runs out with ease.Guarantee you there are more than a couple guys that would rather not face her in the early rounds.

No one believed me all those years ago when I said I just saw a woman play who was gonna light 'em up one day. Even then (maybe six or seven years ago) I saw raw talent like I had never seen before in any female player (Balukas included). I knew she just needed some seasoning and experience. Well, she's got that now, so anything is possible as far as I'm concerned. There is no player, man or woman, that has to like it playing her in a single match. That includes all the stars of the game. They better be ready when they get on the table with her, that's all I have to say.

Earlier I watched some ladies trying to break as hard as they could and not getting the 3-ball rule. Dumb that they're using that rule for this event.

Too bad the crowd is so light, but not surprising given the location.

They mentioned during the finals why they are using the 3-point break rule. That rule is used in all international competition. The WPBA decided our players were less competitive internationally if they were used to breaking one way at home and another way around the world. Regardless of which approach is better, consistency is a reasonable goal.

I don’t know a lot about international women’s pool. I would have assumed that would also come with 9 on the spot and a break box (requiring everyone to cut break for the 1 ball in the side).

I believed you- I had seen GYK beat up so many road players and other guys who thought they coulddnt lose-I knew if she was better than her, anything was possible. She only seems to miss when she is jacked up- She gets that under control and learns all the breaks for the different rack conditions, she might be the favorite over all but the top 10 (worldwide) players.

She showed such a higher gear in Michigan than she did vs Donny. I think she may have been sick vs Donny-Half the time they showed her in her chair, she was blowiwng her nose.

Here's that thread again, Jay, introducing Ms. Chen to a lot of us 8 years ago: https://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=227796
