WPBA Nationals in OR

Hello,

If it's not about Kelly Oyama why mention her name? It's about the recreation called pool that doesn't care about it's fans, hell the gamblers don't even care about the score, just who won and collecting on the side bets. :p The gamblers are so cheap the don't even share any of the winnings with the player they bet on.

I have seen with my own eyes the gracious players like Janet Atwell tending the booth to give Kelly a break between matches. They don't have any money for extra staff. Staff the WPBA has no staff on the road except a few
volunteers and the players themselves.

After being associated with pool again for the last four years I have reached
the conclusion it should be called the ("volunteer recreation") and only played in the state of Tenn. :) I tell you if I haden't made some friends in pool I wouldn't be interested in it at all. Very few people in pool I have met step and say I need to have this done how much will you charge. Pool people start the conversation with "WILL YOU DO ME A FAVOR?" ;) What a joke??????????????? :p

"Ya, the WPBA staff will take care of all of you.

"GREMLIN" (Out of here) :D

Gremlin: I don't have to tell you because you already know the state of affairs in the WPBA. This is a Tenn. run orginazation. They are even trying to fill Steve's position with one of their own from Memphis. I'm sure the girls have told you of how they want to clamp down and not let them play in any un-recognized or un-sanctioned events. I agree: WHAT A JOKE!

Actually, Landshark, you are badly mistaken. At the end of WPBA Fridays, three rounds are complete on both the winners side and the losers side. Unreported results of matches played yesterday:

4 matches from Winners Bracket Round 3
3 Matches from Losers Bracket Round 2
4 Matches from Losers Bracket Round 3

WPBA.com is, therefore, 11 matches behind in its reporting, a very low standard, and appears to have reported on only about half the matches from its Friday evening session. Very disappointing.

Well SJM, I said they imporved a bit. I never said they were up to par. At the New Mexico event it was over 24 hours before any matches were updated via the brackets, so what we have gotten now is an improvemnet, IMO.

BTW, does anyone know any of the following?

Outcome of the Nelson v. Fisher match
Hsin Huang's current results
Outcome of the Laura Smith v. Janet Atwell

WPBA.com is now current through the completin of Friday's play.

OK hopefully this works, My connection speed is so horrible here in LC that I have replied once or twice only to have the connection close during my reply or ??? talk about frustrating!

Ahh, this is life at 14.8kbs.....

This afternoon, WOW!

Allison Fisher tops Calhoun. Clahoun played well but Allison came out ahead, but not easily.

Barretta Wins over Thornfeldt. Didnt see this match.

Rousey lost and is out. Sarah wins the "coolest pro on tour award" IMO. :)

Herndon lost to Hofstatter, and is now on the losers side.

Corr had a great comback against Kelly Fisher, some great shots made in this match. Fisher has been playing really fluidly with great precision. Corr was down 7-3 and came back to hill-hill, then broke and ran to win. Could have been anyones match here.

Webb played really well against Jeanette Lee and WON!
The best part of the night was on the game to put Webb on the hill, She and Jeanette went 4-5 shots on the 2 ball with the 9 in the jaws of the corner pocket. Each was positioning for a combo on the nine for either the tweo or three whick both went into the nine. Lee plays a great safety, and Webb kicks for a little touch on the two. Lee pockets the two, then three, and the four is on dead on the head rail with the nine two feet away. I would WEI it but I want to get this in before my connection closes.

Lee goes for the combo, but the 4 slides outside the nine and sets up Webb perfectly for a combo to go on the hill. As Lee misses, she yells, ....and this the only match left going in the room "OHHH WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!!!! Talking to the ball....... Webb Flies (literally) out of her chair, jumps up in the air and yells back "YOU ARE LEAVING ME A DAMN SHOT!!!!!" ...and the whole room erupted in laughter! Monica easily pocket's the 4-9 combo to get on the hill. Webb went on the win the next rack and send Lee to the losers side.

More later if I can connect!

Thank, KC, nice report. Hope when the evening's play is over, you'll post which four players reached the TV round. That would really be nice.

Alright KingCarom! Thanx for sticking it out through your bad connection. :D Sounds like we missed a great match with Webb v. Lee.

So for those who don't wanna figure out the brackets (good thing I lack a life, eh?), these should be the next match ups:

Winners side:

Corr v. Hoffstatter
Webb v. A. Fisher

One loss side:

Ga Young Kim v. Lee
Nelson v. Calhoun
Barretta v. K. Fisher
Kelly v. Herndon

Karen Corr has the hot seat and Greda and Alison have to battle it out to face Karen. Looks like Gerda is on...Kelly Fisher didn't even get a game in. :p
