Haven't seen a thread, but after the re-draw of the final 16, these are the results:

K. Fisher def. Herndon 9-6
Thornfeldt def. Ashton 9-5
Rousey def. A. Fisher 9-4
Hofstatter def. Shaw 9-6
Pan def. Kim 9-7
Villarreal def. Chen 9-7
Webb def. Kostanian 9-8
Corr def. Lee 9-4

It seems most of the usual suspects have made the TV rounds (TV rounds start at the quarterfinals), but a big congrats to Sarah Rousey for making it to television.

Sarah has had some very nice finishes this year. She has to be in the running for most improved player, although there are a lot of them this year. Congrats Sarah. Johnnyt

Little Poison has struck again!
 
Kelly blanked Helena 7-0 in the first quarterfinal.
Sarah defeated Gerda 7-3. Congrats, Sarah!

Vivian is joining Sarah and Kelly in the semis with a 7-4 win over XTP. Great playing by Vivian, who has made the semis for the third straight tournament. I'm hoping her progression will have gone semis, finals, and a win this time.

I am just wondering how they are juggling this and the Mizerak event? Are they in different parts of the hotel?

Monica took Karen out, 7-4, to set up another semifinal vs. Vivian (Vivian won the last semifinal in the previous tournament). Vivian is my favorite, but I'd be happy with a Vivian, Sarah, or Monica win. This is nothing against Kelly, who is phenomenal, but I'd love to see Vivian win for the first time since 1998 or see Sarah/Monica win her first event.

Not to put any more pressure on Sarah, but if she advances, it will guarantee an American will win. I think the last time that happened, was Jeanette, 3 or 4 years ago!

I played in the last WPBA event there in 2007 and I did not think it was all that big. Just seems odd they had them both the same weekend?

It was in one big room side by side. This is the third different area of the Hotel that the WPBA event has been held. It is deceivingly big. Today the ladies only used one table. The men are already down to 3 players and i think they will use the same table after the WPBA is done tonight. I could be wrong about that. I left a while ago. Not feeling well at all.

Also i was extremely upset with the security goons. Of all the events I have attended at Casinos all over the Country, i have never had a single interaction with security other than at the HR. Every year at the HR is the exception. This year i was chased into the stands to check my ticket after i had already shown it at the entrance and then as i was having what i thought was a 'private moment' in the mens room, i kept hearing all this whispering. "He's in there" blah blah blah. I gave up, left the stall and there are three goons dresed in black staring at me. Before they could say more than sir I started on them. "why are you bothering me?" "this is a pool tournament, not the WhiteHouse-What is wrong with you guys? To make a long story short they said i had been asked to leave the day before for disruptive behavior. I had head the story about who was thrown out and i let them know that and that the guy wore headphone 24/7 and looked or acted nothing like me and blew past them- I was so pissed i just left. Today i was not allowed to bring an EMPTY 8 oz juice container back into the arena that i had gotten in the arena to begin with. It just seems these guys want to make as many people miserable as possible and they are succeeding. Hard Rock-Bite Me!!

I am SO excited for Sarah, Viv and Monica!!! I am torn on who I would want to win, but I would love it if Sarah and Monica played in the finals b/c neither have won a wpba event. But would be happy if Viv was in the finals.

But... I am SO very proud of Sarah for not only getting to the TV rounds, but ALSO lasting until Sunday! Good tournament already, Sarah, and we are all pulling for you to enjoy yourself tomorrow in your match!!!!

hi nostroke,
I always felt that those Indian casinos have WIERD and IRRATIONAL laws and they appear to be big time control freaks.It was because of WPBA events I was in those casinos few times.I reached a point that I do not care to step into those casinos to watch WPBA events.:angry:

Not only that, someone tell me which qualifiers she won to play in the WPBA events. Anyone, anyone? If I recall correctly, she won a qualifier after she played in 1, 2, or 3 wpba events already... I didn't know that was possible! I thought the only way to get to get your foot in the door was to win qualifiers. Please, someone tell me I'm wrong.

You can also be invited by whoever is hosting the event, or at least they use to do that. Though most are no longer held in pool rooms so that rarely happens anymore...?

I believe she played in 2 or 3 events last year.
