WPBA NC Picks

No break for Jeanette between the semi and final? That's not cool. 7 hours of nerve racking pool while Jasmin rests and feeds her face. Not right. (and no I didn't bet on Jeanette) Johnnyt

That can work either way when you come off a win you are pumped up for the next match and when you sit and wait you can get out of stroke.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the new rankings look. Unfortunately for Allison, if they're going by only 4 events, she'll have 5000 knocked off from the first event of the year. Jasmin only loses 750, so she may move up into the top 5. Jeanette may be there too since she loses only 100 points from going 2 and out.

Your right. It was just sour grapes on my part on the spur of the moment. Mouth engaged before brain. I just wanted to see her win a few more before she really can't.

Congrats Jasmin...well done. Johnnyt

Congrats to Line Kjoersvik for a real good finish on the "USA Pool Billiard Circus" and giving some of us who have never seen her play on the WPBA ( as SOME have been waiting!!), a chance to see her on the ESPN tapings that will be shown in the comming months. And as I have stated before you have the best looking Avatar on the block!!

If Sarah didn't have to work 40+ hours a week and had a sponsor, she would be right up there with the big dogs, Big cats? Just don't sound right. She would be up there with the top ten ladies...ahh that's better. Another good showing Sarah, WTG. Johnnyt

She is a fantastic looking young women. She also is a very good singer (Rock )
Speaking figuratively her looks are equally good as her 9 ball game.

I can't wait for the NEW rankings to be put up on the WPBA web site. This is going make everyone nuts, both players and fans. Someone on AZ posted that A. Fisher is going to lose 5,000 points for her 2 and out 2 tournaments ago and Jeanette will only lose 100 for her 2 and out 3 tournaments ago. I don't know if this is correct or not. But if it is even close to that...

I think they better rethink this NEW ranking system. Too many points are taken and given now. A lot of the sponsors of the pros have ads in magazines, ads and banners on the net stating "so and so is #1 or #2 or #3" or what ever. Then the sponsor looks after the next tournament to see there horse is #22. Not a good thing for the ladies. Johnnyt

Johnny, that was me that posted the stuff about the rankings. That was me assuming they're going by the 4 most current tournaments. The 5th event would be the first event of the year, where Allison won and Jeanette went 2-and-out.

Where did you get that info from? I'd like to read up on it as I'm not familiar myself with how the new ranking system is supposed to work. Since they started everyone at 0 at the beginning of the year, why would points drop off? You'd think they'd just leave them as is for the rest of the year then start from 0 again next year? I should go search the WPBA site to see if they explain the ranking system anywhere.

I just reread the WPBA's explanation of rankings. The rankings for the year may just be through the entire year (meaning this past tournament will just be added to whatever everyone else already has). However, they use the last 4 tournaments to seed players for tournaments. So, the conversation about Allison losing 5000 and Jeanette only losing 100 may not impact their ranking, but their seeding for the next event in a few weeks.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I wonder what the logic is behind using the last 4 tournaments for seeding but not ranking. Doesn't seem logical to me, but then again, a lot of things the WPBA does doesn't always make sense to me.

Now that is something that I would like to hear! - perhaps the WPBA - ESPN - will have her perform between matches sometime.

Hey Steffersen !!
You seem to be DA MAN in Norway (gambler, seer, player , tournament director, etc.)- promoting Kjoersvik videos and always talking about her how about a youtube of Kjoersvik singing for us??

Mal,
I can't help you with the vid (though I did hear her sing one late night in the Paradice casino lounge - she was good).

Here is a photo from the Taiwan Amway World Cup (Line was beaten by Jeanette Lee in that tournament; then beat Jeanette 1 week later in San Diego). Seems like they are meeting frequently this year.

Line is on the left.

P.S. - photo by Jeanette Lee

Well thanx - if she is really that good then someone should take notice and Steffersen should do some promotin as he appears to be a person who can get things done up there.

Well that is ok by me that means she can't be bad either so who knows perhaps when she is in a singin mood she will do one and post it on her site - cause after the way she shot in this tournament she should be singin dancin and whatnot!
