This should be on for the next few hours I guess, right now is Helena vs Allison. Check it out. :)

It seems to me that live commentating for pool doesn't work for the TV. It'll work for an online stream, but they seem so lost, so confused, and a lack of general pool information on the TV broadcast. It hurts me to hear them say "Well I have no idea what they're trying to do here" or "what was that?!" or "I don't get why they played it that way".

It is not live on TV but the commentating usually is while the event is being recorded.

I know it's not live, there's no such thing as live pool on tv in the USA. Should ESPN move to commentary done after the match to make it more interesting/attracting?

I think live commentary is more interesting, and I don't see why commentators would make comments to that effect. At the very least they can mention a few possibilities or summarize the problems on the table, doesn't take that much skill. I'm guessing it might be more a question of style than skill, with the commentators trying to somehow convey respect for a higher level player whose thought patterns they're unable to follow. Even so, it comes off wrong.

I forget who was playing earlier, but they had ball in hand with the 5, 6, 8, 9, on the table all wide open, and they decided to take the nearly straight in 5-9 combo instead and Ewa nearly had a breakdown. That's what I mean by the commentary is bad.
