WPBA Pro Emily Duddy's new Steve Klapp Cue!

Butterfly

Emily Duddy
Hi Cue Fans!

It's been a while since I posted on AZ, but I've been inspired to share. I picked up my new beautiful Steve Klapp Custom Cue 2 months ago and it's the best cue I've ever played with!!

After admiring Steve's butterfly splice work for some time I was put into contact with him and really appreciated his honest and genuine manor. He became very excited at the thought of making a custom cue for me and that made me very enthusiastic about our new partnership.

After picking the design and the kind of woods I would like to use Steve completed my cue in about 3 months, which definitely impressed me. I wanted something with a classic look, not a lot of color, no inlays, just beautiful butterfly splices, inverted points and perfect craftsmanship. The result was more than I expected.

My boyfriend Brian and I specifically took a road trip to the Ultimate 10-ball Championships in Mississippi to pass through Charlotte, NC so we could pick it up. We hung out with Steve that night and went to the local pool rooms, I'm now proud to call him my friend as well as my sponsor!!

Below are pictures of the cue and me with it! The cue has stripped ebony as the centerpiece, the main butterfly points are gabon ebony, the veneers are alternating holly and ebony, and it's full spliced into a curly maple body. 3/8-10 pin, flat faced cue ball joint, the rings around joint and butt cap alternating ebony and cue ball.

This beautiful one of kind cue retails for $1,800 and working with Steve to make your cue is a great experience!

Best of all it hits like a dream! I've played with custom cues and predator cues regularly for 10 years and this bests them all!

To see more of Steve's work and get his contact info check out his website! If you order a cue you will love it!

Steve Klapp is a real craftsman.

This cue is the reason I have Steve working on my conversion now. Should be done soon!

His customer service and focus are just flat-out amazing. I am worse than a girlfriend calling him as often as I do, but he is just the friendliest guy. Willing to talk designs, wheel and deal, even barter for some extra work on the side!

I could not have imagined in my wildest dreams that a custom experience could be so positive. He has a guaranteed fanboy in me, the pricepoint and service have so far been phenomenal!! :grin-square: He even called me up to let me know the wood isn't what we thought it was after taking a couple of passes at it and we revised the design on the spot!

Any time I want to talk to someone about woods and resonance, I can just dial him up. Let him know Patrick sent you [and Emily, too!] and he'll set you up right!

Beautiful cue is that a ivory joint in it?

It's a cueball joint. I am having him put one on my cue as well. When uncapped it plays a lot closer to a one piece cue than any other material I have tried.
