Anyone at the WPBA event that might be able to provide any kind of updates? Looks like the WPBA website doesn't have the draw up yet.

Tiffany Nelson lost her first match against Dawn Hopkins. I would like to wish Tiffany a great come back.

Tracie Hines beat XiaoTing Pan 9 to 1 according to the chart. Congrat to Tracie. Tough loss for Pan. I know Tracie is a great player but I am suprised at the lop sided result.

Congrat to Sarah Rousey's victory against Carol Clark. She will be playing Jennifer Barretta next round. Tough choice for Azer to decide who to pull for.

Leslie Ann Rogers beat Melissa Little. Leslie will play Ga Young Kim next. Good luck to Melissa and Leslie.

Most of the usual suspects are still on the A side, it is going to be a tough battle.

Brackets are updated. Some notes:

Allison pulled out a 9-8 victory over Mayuki Sakai
Dawn Hopkins had another nice win, this time over Kim White 9-7
Kelly Fisher took out Ms. Herndon 9-6
Gerda got sent to the B-side 9-5 by Megan Minerich
Monica Webb went down 9-8 to Hsin Huang
Alice Rim continues her good play with a 9-6 win over Julie Kelly
Tracie Hines gets another good win, 9-7 over Helena. She plays Jennifer B. next, who took out Sarah Rousey 9-8
Ewa lost a hill-hill match to Belinda Calhoun.

I just checked out the brackets and saw that. Way to go Alice, keep it up! ;)

Unfortunately Tina (GirlWonOne) lost her first match. :( According to the bracket she's stil in it. ;)

Melissa Herndon lost her 2nd match is now playing on the one loss side.

Sarah Rousey was in two AZB match ups... her first match was against Carol Clark who posts here sometimes. Sarah came out ahead in her match against Carol. Then she met up with another AZB'er Jennifer Barretta. Jennifer prevailed in that match.

Carol lost her next match against Nikki Rasmussen. :( With the exception of Carol, all the AZB ladies are still in it. ;)

Congrat to Megan for her victory against Gerda.

Jennifer Chen will play Allison Fisher tonight at 9pm.

Hsin is making a good showing this ime, I hope she can keep it up. Good luck to her.

Ive been predicting a top 5 finish for Tracie for awhile now. If not this tournament, sometime soon i believe.

Not too many updates, but a big surprise is Monica Webb is out. After losing her first match, the WPBA site is reporting she lost to Bonnie Coats 9-8.

Monica Webb's early exit is a shocker, as she's not just one of the tour's very best players, but also one of the most consistent. I will venture a guess that this is the first two and out by Monica since becoming a WPBA touring pro (1999?) I'm betting she'll come back strong at the BCA Open next month. Great player!

Ga Young just posted a perfect .1000 accustats match tonight against Megan Minerich. She won 9-0 in about 22 minutes.

Monica won her first match 9-8 vs Liz Cole so her record still stands.

Not sure how Accustats does their scoring but GYK's only miss vs Megan was a jump shot. She was shooting it in the side and had to draw back a bit for the 2 which she did but she did not pocket the one. Somewhat interesting is the fact that warming up for this match she missed half her shots. Then she goes ahead and shoots perfect.

Allison just beat J Chen 9-5. Dawn was down 7-5 or so to Kim Shaw in the last match of the nite.

Here are the A-side results (all winners advance to single elimination):
A. Fisher def. Chen 9-5
Hopkins def. Shaw 9-8
K. Fisher def. Lee 9-5
GY Kim def. Minerich 9-0
Ellerby def. Huang 9-6
Rim def. Villarreal 9-2 (I'm disappointed Vivian lost, but congrats to another great win for Alice)
Barretta def. Hines 9-3
Corr def. Calhoun 9-6

Some very interesting B-side matches:
Nelson vs. Thornfeldt (winner playing Lee to get to single elimination)
L. Smith vs. Herndon (winner playing Hines to get to single elimination)
Pan vs. White (winner playing Villarreal to get to single elimination)

She is definitely a fast player. I'm impressed that she scored perfectly playing that fast. She should make a video on the secrets of playing good pool while playing fast... Aside from A LOT of women benefitting from it, there's quite a few guys that could benefit from it too. :D

Tiffany Nelson certainly is not getting a easy route to the single knock out stage. She had to play Dawn Hopkins, then Debbie Schjodt, then Sarah Rousey, then Helena Thornfeldt, and now Jeanette Lee.

It is amazing how she managed to keep winning her matches through most likely the toughest path on the loser side to the knock out stage.

Melissa Herndon has to play Laura Smith, and if she wins, she will have to beat Tracie Hines in order to get to the single knock out stage. Good luck.

Jennifer Barretta is still on the winner's side, way to go.

I stand corrected. First time Monica Webb went three and out since WPBA Tunica in 2004.
