I understand the two most likely spots are Taipei and Manila. It all depends on a combination of sponsorship packages and television production capabilities.

I hope it's decided soon so I can release dates for the 2006 International Party Tour, I'm working closely with other tours such as club 18-30, Swingers USA, and Mardi Gras to avoid as many date clashes as possible

Cebu is very historical as far as the Philippines is concern, we have the oldest street (i.e. Colon St.) in the Philippines, the first place in Asia who repulsed a foreign invader (i.e. Magellan) by a young chieftain named Lapu-lapu. Not to mention the very nice beaches here and many hotels, world class hand made guitars, mango etc. I just dont understand why our local politicians here why they are not bidding to host the WPC since it would attract many people from around the world as well as the millions who view
it on their own tv sets. This year though we will be holding the
ASEAN ministers summit.
I heard another rumor though that if it would here in the Phils it would
be in Pampanga where Efren was born and came from.
Now which is which ???

I think Efren is the bloke, and Pampanga is the town. I could be wrong.

I knew you would like this thread, just to be clear though cebu would be my personal preference if it was to be held in the phillipines would be cebu over Manila. Cebu has an international airport, its an island with great nightlife and beaches not to mention many of the great fillipino players that are based there.
However few if any of these reasons probably come in to mix when chosing a location so its probably just a pipe dream. Anywhere in the phillipines would still be better than Taiwan IMO and I bet you wouldn't see as many taiwanese players dominating as you do on home turf.

I would love to see the WPC in Manila. But I think given the fact that Taiwan will be desperate to keep it (which will probably equal more money invested into the tournament) plus the the political unrest that The Philippines has recently experienced, I cant see it being in the Philippines this year. Hopefully, I'm wrong though.
I hope it's Manila. There's alot of pool halls around so when ever I would want to watch money games it would be easy to go from one pool hall to another.
