WPC 2007-live internet coverage dates & times

I disagree about the soft break being a bad thing. The players are still running the racks. It's still takes alot of skill.

It's a sick joke, this soft-break format. This isn't a championship pool tournament. Rather, it's a championship break tournament.

wow. 6 straight racks by Gomez and apparently, he has been making spectacular shots too. It would be a pity if he would lose that game.

I see your point. But then doesn't the best player win if he doesn't miss? It's a tough choice, fair play to the guy who can keep running out but I do like to see the unexpected "what a shot" kind of player. I admire consistency, but I love the shotmakers too. I have to, I'm that kind of player.

It is a tough one isn't it? Thanks Klopek, good answer & lots to think about.
 
Okay... Gomez now ready to break. Nigel Rees taking a long time racking.

Gomez power breaks again... gets the 1 in the side pocket. Wing ball down.

Has an open look on the 2... but, it is not in line to any pocket. Gomez studying the layout of the table. The 2 is two diamonds away from the lower left corner pocket... the cue ball is on the other long rail... 3 diamonds aways from the lower right corner pocket.

Gomez tries to bank the two into the lower right corner. The two ball hits the 9 and misses. It goes to the center of the table.

Boyes stands up... and tries a shot of the two into the center pocket. He gets the two in... but scratches as well.

Gomez now back on the table.
 
Gomez has 4 balls remaining on the table. the 6, 7 ,8 ,9.

He has a straight in shot on the 6... stops the cue ball and has a nice look at the 7 into the upper right corner. Shoots the 7... gets the 8 ... and now has a nice straight shot of the 9 into the lower right corner.

Shoots it!!! Now leads 7 - 4.

Apart from the Boyes shot on the 2 ball, he has been basically sitting down for 30+ minutes already. The coliseum aircon is on full blast and it is damn cold. It is making everyone shiver.

Wonder how the players are feeling?

They work up a sweat when playing pool. The players are probably comfortable with the air-conditioning. Whereas, the audience is probably FREEZING COLD. I hate that when that happens.
