Can anybody beat this guy? His match scores are insane.

He was seeded number 1 in the round of 64 last year's WPC only to be eliminated by the eventual champion Alcano who was seeded last. Gomez defeated Alcano in the preliminaries however, before that rematch in the round of 64.

and he had to go through the qualifiers with dozens on TPE and PHI players in order to qualify for this tournament.

Who would have thought that the Filipino superstars would be gone at this point and we have 2 unheralded Filipino players left in this WPC?

wow, i didn't know that. but he didn't get here over night. the man is solid as.. an IPA i guess.

Joven is out already losing 8 to 11. Gomez is the only Filipino left and he is starting to feel the pressure. This is not the flawless player we saw in his previous matches but he is still confortably ahead. He should not choke though.

Kuo missed a cut on the 1 though... so, Gomez back on the table and gets the 1.

Gomez, soft breaking again... gets the wing ball... has an open shot on the 1... though not an easy shot at getting it into the pocket.

Blind corner shot for the 2... does it with draw... 2 goes in hard... cue ball draws back 1 rail and gets great position for the 3. Open shot on the 4... looks like an easy run out now.

This year's WPC is starting to be a contest among the upstarts. I wouldn't be surprise if Foldes prevails over Peach. Looks like the veterans are left in the dust.
